All parents sooner or later have to think about a carnival costume for their child. Sometimes in the kindergarten some specific images are required if the baby is involved in the production and plays a key role. But most often on New Year's Day, a masquerade or just a festive event offers to dress up as someone to choose from. There are three ways out. You can rent a suit, buy it already ready or make it yourself. So, do the hedgehog costume with your own hands.
Animal image
First of all, a hedgehog is an animal that the traditional appears in fairy tales as a solid, wise, respectable creature. So the suit must be chosen in such a way as to fit the look. Frivolous bows and cheerful pink flowers are not needed here. And what you need?
Costume parts
So, a carnival costume of a hedgehog can include a plain shirt (it is better to choose a yellow, white or blue), a colorful colored vest (if there isn’t a picture, you can take a plain one and decorate it with braid, sequins or tinsel, if it's a New Year’s costume), plain or striped trousers in harmony with the top, and smart shoes. On your head you will need a cape in the form of a hood with needles, which will go down on your back (you can sew it from a bike or any other fabric, add a lining of gray, black or white colors), you can put on a mask.
Cloak
A do-it-yourself hedgehog costume is made so that the cape hood looks like a prickly back of a hedgehog. To do this, “needles” are attached to it (cut out the circles from the black bag, turn and glue it). The hood is fastened with a butterfly, button or bow, which in color should be bright and contrasting with the rest of the costume.
Hedgehog mask
In principle, of course, a mask is not a necessary element of the outfit, but if the kindergarten is allowed and the child wants to wear it, it is quite possible to make a pretty face of a forest sage. A do-it-yourself hedgehog costume will look much more interesting with it. We cut out the mask from cardboard, glue it on top with the same fabric from which the hood was sewn, because theoretically the cape is a continuation of the muzzle. The nose is made of a piece of foam rubber covered with black cloth (anything will do here, even the same bike, even felt, even a cut from black tights) is sewn or glued to the mask. To make it more likely, you can even make a mustache and attach it to your nose. To do this, pieces of thick fishing line are threaded through it, fixed with a glue from the inside (so that it can not be pulled out). You can decorate the eyes of the hedgehog by circling with gouache (diluted with glue) or by gluing a black string. The finished mask is fastened with an elastic band. Everything, in general terms, a hedgehog costume is made by yourself.
Assembly
The only thing left to consider is the decoration of an already finished costume. It all depends on the nature of the holiday and the desire of the needlewoman. You can attach a light plastic or knitted apple on the cloak, and decorate the outfit with sequins, ribbons and bows. Get a great hedgehog costume.
