At the airport there are many restaurants offering their visitors traditional Chinese dishes. The air traffic control tower is considered the highest in Asia and reaches a height of 70 m.
The nearby town of Sanya can be reached by high-speed train from Meilan Train Station , which can be reached directly from the airport. The center of Haikou is easily accessible by road (bus or taxi).
Hainan Province: Sanya Felix Airport
Only slightly inferior to Haikou Meilan in size, Sanya Felix International Airport is located amid picturesque local nature 15 km north-west of the resort town of Sanya. It was opened in 1994, it serves 168 scheduled flights, 130 of which are domestic, 35 - international and 3 more - regional. The second largest airport on Hainan Island, however, takes 17th place in terms of throughput among the airports of China. Properly constructed and comfortable building accommodates more than thirty stores, as well as about a dozen food outlets. You can get from the airport to the city by bus or taxi.
