Seoul is a city in which Buddhist temples hide behind skyscrapers, and from the TV tower on Mount Namsan you can see the entire village. This is a huge number of tea houses and shops, palace complexes surrounded by hills and hills. The city has many attractions, because it was founded in 1394, there are many masterpieces of modern architecture. The same golden tower located on the island of Yoido. Park complex
Seoul is the only South Korean city with a special status, where 25 municipalities, with their own self-government, and the settlement itself is already recognized as one of the most expensive in the world. In the satellite city of Gwacheon, there is an amazing place.
It is in it that the Big Seoul Park is located, in which more than 3 thousand representatives of the animal world live (350 species). The complex was opened in 1984 at the foot of Mount Cheongye, its area is about 9,000 hectares.
At each entrance you can buy tickets, rent an audio guide or buy a card. At the second entrance you can catch a mini-train. The area is partially hilly, and in some places there are comfortable hiking trails. There is even a free shuttle bus running from the subway station to the entrance at the top of Seoul Big Park and near the Museum of Art. The park zone is divided into several thematic zones.
Zoo
This is the most visited part of the complex. All animals are divided by type and habitat:

Animals can even be fed with specially prepared food. And in the children's part of the zoo, kids are given the opportunity to play with animals. Botanical Garden
A continuation of the zoo zone of the Big Seoul Park is a botanical garden. Here are about 1300 species of vegetation of our planet. The garden is divided into temperature sectors. Flowers on the flower beds are planted in the form of animals, space and other objects. In many sectors there is musical accompaniment and it seems that you find yourself in paradise with exotic flowers. Park workers are very proud of the park's collection of cacti and orchids.
Rose garden
Seoul Grand park is famous for its rose garden, which is located on the lake. There are more than 200 varieties of flowers, and in total there are more than 30 thousand buds. You have to come here in June, when the flowering of roses begins. The paths around the flower beds are paved with stone, you can walk along them for hours, enjoying the beauty and aroma. And in the very middle of the sector there is a beautiful fountain. It is in this part of the park that there are always many photographers and artists.
Forest cheongesan
The complex is surrounded by mountains and natural forest, in which approximately 470 varieties of trees grow. Naturally, this place was favored by birds, more than 35 species live here.
If you like hiking in the forest, then you need to come here. There is a special route (length - 6.3 kilometers). After a bustling city, it is in this sector that you can reunite with nature and breathe in the mountain air.
Other types of entertainment
Big Seoul Park has everything for outdoor activities - this is the Seoulland center with attractions and carousels, which delight not only children, but also adults. In the same sector, regular festivals are held devoted to flowers and plants blooming in a particular season, in spring - sakura, in summer - roses, and in autumn - chrysanthemums.
You can admire the beauties of the park almost from a bird's eye, taking a ride on the cable car. The route of the lift runs to the highest site of the complex through the rose garden and lake. It is from here that you can see all the landscape creations that are not visible to pedestrians.
For tired visitors to the park, there is a trackless train running along the shores of the lake.
How to get there
From Seoul to the park complex can be reached by subway. You should go along the fourth or blue line to the station of the same name. A free bus runs from the exit from the metro, which takes vacationers to the upper entrance to the park.
