Intelligent information systems, their types and functions

Science and technology are moving forward with leaps and bounds. A particularly decisive breakthrough was made in the last decades of our century, and it concerns computer technologies, information systems.

What is IIS?

intelligent information systems

The task of nanotechnology and computer intelligence specialists is to create an artificial brain that can cope with problems that require an ambiguous approach and creative solutions. In artificial intelligence, it is necessary to invest experience, skills, knowledge, even talents that a human person possesses. And this is not only so that the computer can cope with one specific task. Indeed, there can be an infinite number of similar or close situations. And, having "learned" to cope with one, a computer model can easily recognize and resolve such. Because in her memory the knowledge of a given person, his intellectual abilities, life experience and many other other personality traits will be introduced . Such a brain, no doubt, is adapted for use in other relevant fields.

The most difficult moment in such a task is to simulate such an artificial intelligence in which intuition, consciousness, subconsciousness are present in accordance with the human. Such intellects in programming are called β€œintelligent information systems” - IMS. These systems must communicate with a person in his native, human language. A machine translation must be able to catch and process, "understand" all the wealth, semantic and emotional, of human speech.

In other words, intelligent information systems are computer models of the capabilities of human intelligence in the field of targeted search, analysis and synthesis of current information about the world to obtain new knowledge about it and solve especially important problems on their basis. And if the first information systems simply worked on the basis of catalogs and classifiers, performing the solution of the corresponding problems, if the automatic information systems relied on banks and databases, then IMSs do not include in their working potential anything but a knowledge base. In addition to the collection, processing and storage of information, intelligent information systems deal with intellectual problems and tasks.

The main directions in the work on IIS

information system functions
Work on artificial intelligence is carried out in three main directions. The first is to uncover the secrets of human thinking, to explore the structure of the brain and the mechanisms of its work. Scientists are working on the study of psychophysiological data of a person, work out hypotheses related to the work of mechanisms of different types of intellectual activity, and consider their implementation in intelligent information systems.

In the second direction, work is underway on the actual modeling, i.e. creating such a system using computer technology, etc. Its representatives are engaged in the development of software, algorithmic circuits for computer technology of this kind and class, which would act as an intelligent system and solve problems on a human, conscious and creative level.

Scientists representing the so-called third direction work in a seemingly completely fantastic field - the creation of specific human robots in which the functions of the information system, i.e. artificial intelligence, would be combined with the capabilities of natural human intelligence.

As the involved theorists and practitioners note, the most difficult stage in research and constructed models is to find and implement the best possible combination of the fusion of human and machine minds, to organize an adequate dialogue between the system and man in terms of language.
