In the summer season, many go to relax, sunbathe and swim on the Salt Lake (Bataisk). In recent years, this place has changed a lot, and a water park has grown on the shores of this reservoir.
Origin of the lake
Solenoe Lake is located in Bataisk (Rostov Region) in the northeast side of the city. This reservoir is of artificial origin, although it is associated with the Koysug River basin. In the 70s, when a highway was under construction in these places, the Salt Lake (Bataisk) was formed.
Reservoir description
The name "Salty", as you might guess, appeared due to the salty taste of water. The lake received this property because of the springs that feed it; they also maintain the ecological balance of the reservoir. Also, the lake’s nutrition is partially due to precipitation. The bottom is sandy. Its average depth is 6 meters, but there are places where the depth of the pits is 28 m.
Salt Lake (Bataysk) has its own ichthyofauna. Crustaceans are found here, there are burbot fish, grass carp and ram. Recently, rumors that piranha has been found in the waters have not ceased.
At the very beginning of its formation, the inhabitants of this area chose a lake for swimming and relaxation. Well-groomed beaches, cafeterias quickly lined up here, and a full-fledged water park has recently appeared.
New water park
In 2014, in mid-June, the opening of an aquapark called DonPark took place. The location of this complex has made it popular among residents of Bataisk and its environs. Also, residents of Rostov come here.
The territory occupied by the water park on the Salt Lake in Bataysk is 2.4 hectares. Given this area, the park can accommodate 1,500 visitors at a time.
It is also very easy to get to this place of rest. You can use public transport, which makes routes to this side regularly. If possible, you can go to the water park on your own car and leave it in a special parking lot.
Relax in the water park
The water park is divided into three zones. The first is for children. There is a private pool of 700 m 2 . All children's and teenage attractions are displayed on this body of water. Children especially like to relax here, because every day in the park there are animators entertaining the kids.

Although the Salt Lake (Bataysk) is constantly undergoing inspections of the Rospotrebnadzor, many residents decided not to swim in this reservoir. This is due to the fact that there is an old cemetery nearby, and during rains all harmful decomposition products flow with water into the lake.
