Closed Joint-Stock Company Atlant began its history in the year nineteen fifty-ninth, when a government decision was made to create an enterprise for the production of refrigerators on the basis of a plant producing gas equipment. Until that time, similar household appliances were not produced in Belarus.
The first Minsk-1 refrigerator was released in nineteen sixty-two. After that, for the first time in the USSR, a two-chamber model of household appliances was developed and the production of freezers was started. At the same time, innovative thermal insulation from polyurethane foam was successfully used in production. The first delivery of goods to Greece in the nineteen seventy-third year opened the world market for the enterprise. Subsequently, the export of products began to be carried out in Belgium and Australia, England and France, Italy and the Netherlands, as well as many other European countries.
Currently, the Minsk Refrigerator Plant produces more than fifty different models of household appliances under the name Atlant, designed to store food.
