Each settlement or administrative-territorial unit has the right to its own symbols. And this is logical, because cities, villages, regions have their own traditions and certain differences from each other.
Flag of Moscow region
The Moscow region is the central region of the country. The flag of the Moscow Region was officially approved on December 3, 1997 (by the way, it is considered one of the earliest from the regional symbols). The flag project was developed by leading artists and heraldists of the region, and the image was approved at a meeting of the regional government. Finally, the official status of the flag was assigned after its registration in the special State Register.
What does the flag of the Moscow Region look like? The canvas itself is red. Skeptics may say that these are the remnants of the Soviet past, which, at last, is worth getting rid of. What can I say? Probably yes. But people favorably accepted such a flag of the Moscow Region, all the more so since the red color was also present on the flag of the Russian Federation, and was traditional for the state banner even before the communists came to power. The connection between the state symbols of the Moscow Region - the flag and the coat of arms is traced. How? The fact is that in the upper left corner of the flag shows the great martyr George the Victorious on a horse.
Flags of the cities of the Moscow region
The administrative-territorial division in the Moscow region consists of:
- urban districts;
- municipal areas;
- urban settlements.
Each administrative unit today has its own flag. Of the urban settlements of the Moscow region, they first of all approved their symbol in the town of Drezna. The event took place on November 4, 1999. The image shows a simple, uncomplicated picture, symbolizing the Russian nation as working people who usefully work on the earth. The general background of the banner is green, it depicts a woman working in the field.
The Istra municipal district is the first-born in terms of approving its own flag. It was officially approved by a decision of the local council of people's deputies on March 14, 1997. We observe the predominance of three colors: yellow, white, blue. The image is as follows: on a blue background in the center of the flag is the sun, under which a white wavy line is drawn (symbolizes the earth or river waves).
Flags of urban districts
Urban districts are settlements located near Moscow. The local symbol was first approved by the local deputies of the Dzerzhinsky district (1997). On a red background in the center of the canvas is the Kremlin, behind which the rising sun is visible.
