Such a product as crocheted slippers, boots perfectly combines beauty and functionality. These slippers are almost indispensable in the everyday life of the inhabitants of rural houses. Residents of apartments, it is also useful, especially in winter or during off-season.
Types of indoor boots
The growing popularity of such products has provoked the emergence of a large number of methods for their manufacture. They are given the appearance of "uggs" or fishnet boots and performed using different techniques. Crochet craftswomen use this tool, while others prefer knitting slippers and boots with knitting needles.
Using a hook, indoor boots are easiest to knit in two ways:
- Of hexagonal fragments.
- In circular rows.
The resulting products are very different in appearance and manufacturing method. Both that, and another method allows to create unique and original slippers, boots.
Knitting soles
The sole of the boots can be crocheted or use felt insoles. It is also possible that leather inserts will be sewn onto a knitted sole. This will significantly increase the life of the boots. Leather patches can cover the entire surface of the sole or only those places that are most subjected to abrasion: heels and socks. The knitted sole itself is very simple to manufacture, focusing on the following pattern.
Here, a variant of knitting a children's insole is proposed, but by continuing to work on the indicated principle, you can get a part of any size. The main technique is to add columns on the toe and heel, as well as using elements of different heights (columns without a crochet and with a crochet) for the manufacture of the sole of the desired shape. The part obtained as a result of work is necessary to create boots of both types.
Motif slippers
The diagram below shows the hexagon, which is great for making indoor boots. The advantage of using just such fragments is that when connected, they perfectly follow the contour of the person’s legs, and there is no need to invent additional ways to give them the desired shape. The fragments can be joined in the process of knitting the last row or simply stitch them with a needle.
Each product will require five of these motives. Colors can be varied as you wish. Here, even such seemingly incongruous shades as in a photograph at the beginning of the article get along well. By the way, such a distribution of different threads will help to utilize the accumulated residual yarn.
The three motives that make up the first level must be combined in such a way as shown in the figure. The bottom will be the toe of the boots, the other two will be located on the sides of the legs. The second level of hexagonal motifs includes only two fragments. They are sewn to the motives of the first level, juxtaposing them like puzzles.
The booties of the boots are formed in circular rows connected along the upper side of the motifs of the second level. Their height can be increased until the product reaches the planned size. It should be noted that the pagolenok will need to be gradually expanded, since the volume of the calf is greater than the girth of the leg at the ankle.
Ready boots need to be sewn to the sole by any convenient method. The most popular is the processing of the edge of the sole with a loop seam and the subsequent binding of the detail of the boot with a hook.
Hand knitting: ugg - shaped slippers
Such products can be knitted in circular rows immediately after the manufacture of the sole. For the formation of a dividing scar, you need to perform a series without additions with single crochet columns. In this case, the hook should not be inserted under both “pigtails” of the columns of the previous row, but only under one of them, under the one that will be inside the product. Thus, the pigtail remaining outside forms a border.
A tied row without additions will be the first at the top of the boots. So, work should continue until the canvas reaches a height of four to five centimeters. Further knitting will continue only in the front of the product.
The upper part of the toe of the boots is a flat semicircle. It can be knitted separately and sewn, or you can perform several straight and reverse rows with the reduction of every second column.
The next step is knitting pagolenka. To do this, in one circular row connect all the columns of the canvas and knit up without additions.
Dressing boots
Slippers-boots can have a pagolenok with any decor that the craftswoman likes. It can be connected in simple circular rows to the desired height or provided with buttons, as in the photo above. The embroidery and appliqués look interesting. Slippers-boots with elongated loops on the canvas pagolenka are also popular. Careful execution of such loops creates an imitation of thick fringe.
