Despite its indisputable advantages: the resolution of the video recorder in Full HD, compactness and cost, the gadget has obvious disadvantages. This may include unimportant work at night: four LEDs for IR illumination do little to help in the dark.

There is not much internal memory on the gadget - only 2 GB, but it is possible to expand it with memory cards up to 128 GB (SDXC) and forget about daily cleaning. The built-in GPS-module allows you to work with maps and warns of stationary traffic police cameras in front. Sensitivity is not as good as that of the same Karkama, but the module copes with ordinary duties well.

The model’s fly in the ointment is a battery. A device worth 10,000 rubles implies an acceptable battery life, including, and in our case, a 300 mAh battery clearly does not cope with its task. At maximum power consumption, the gadget lasts about 15 minutes, which is very small, especially when such a powerful processor as Ambarella is working on board. Therefore, many users have to get used to a small, but still a cord stretching from the recorder to the cigarette lighter or other power source.

The resolution of the DVR is one of the main characteristics that directly depends on the quality of the available matrix. Do not believe the seller’s assurances that, for example, a gadget with an SD or HD scan can be “accelerated” to the next level (HD / Full HD, respectively) using interpolation, that is, by increasing the resolution programmatically. Such a solution only worsens the quality of the picture, because it simply expands the image, and does not detail it. Therefore, it is better to take gadgets that fully support the format you need.
The best option is HD or, even better, Full HD scan, where everything that happens in front of the hood is well detailed, and the numbers are perfectly readable by automation. Taking a device with a lower resolution matrix is ​​simply impractical. You will get a blurred picture and unreadable numbers of cars ahead.
