How dense crochet patterns are formed: schemes and description

Craftswomen who prefer to work only with a crochet hook sooner or later discover that their options are a bit limited. This is especially pronounced when you need to tie something tight or, conversely, resembling that created by knitting needles.

The problem of knitters and its solution

Despite the huge number of patterns, working with a hook, it is difficult to get an elastic canvas. For this reason, many people use knitting needles for knitting hats, scarves and necks of sweaters. Of course, you can try crocheting the elastic band with the help of embossed columns, but there will be little sense from it.

Along with this, creating a continuous crochet fabric is much easier than using knitting needles. Here, inextensibility becomes a plus, since the products are not deformed. There are such dense crochet patterns, patterns and description of which allow you to completely replace the ornaments made with knitting needles. This is especially valuable for those who want to crochet a coat, bag or cardigan, because these items of clothing should be warm and well-kept in shape.

Features dense patterns

It should be borne in mind that such fabrics will require much more yarn than conventional ones. In addition, you need to pay attention to the thickness of the thread: using yarn thicker than 300 m / 100 grams will be inconvenient. The best indicator is 400-500 m / 100 g.

Using dense crochet patterns (the diagrams and description do not matter), it is imperative to knit a control sample to check the yarn for shrinkage. If this is not done, the finished product can significantly change its size after the first wash.

Dense crochet patterns: diagrams and description

The patterns described below are built on the same principle, but have slight differences in execution.

solid embossed pattern

The first is simpler: here, single crochet (RLS) and embossed double crochet (RSCN) columns are used. Such dense crochet patterns (the diagrams and description are proposed later) are excellent for knitting most products:

  • They are easy to combine with other ornaments.
  • When changing colors, the canvas is even more interesting.
  • To tie out armholes and neck is as easy as shelling pears.

They begin, as always, with the VP chain.

Then they work according to this algorithm:

  • 1 row: all loops are knitted with double crochet (CCH).
  • 2 row: all loops knit sc.
  • 3 row: alternation of 1 and 1. Moreover, RCCN is performed not in the loop of the previous row, but in the column of the first row.
  • 4th row: all loops - RLS.

To build up the canvas you need to consistently repeat the third and fourth rows.

Dense crochet pattern

This canvas is connected exclusively with RLS, but when working on the third row, the hook is not inserted into the loop of the previous row, but under the RLS of the second row (that is, a row lower).

simple tight crochet patterns

The alternation of conventional and elongated RLS (1 x 1) allows you to create a rigid and tight canvas.

The described simple dense crochet patterns are useful not only for beginners, but also for experienced craftswomen.
