First of all, we note that the small town of Kimry is located in the Tver region. The first mention of it is found in the letter of the 16th century. Based on the information contained in this historical document, at that time, far from us, the Kimry was a large village that was of purely commercial importance, and, moreover, was famous for artisans.
In the 17th century, the Kimry was considered the “boot capital”. Shoe makers of Kimr even carried out orders for the Russian army. A shoe factory was built here at the beginning of the 20th century, and manual labor was replaced by mechanical labor.

It’s very convenient to get to the settlement of Kimry by rail - from the capital’s Savelovsky station, an electric train leaves for Savelovo station several times a day (travel time is a little more than 2 hours).
By bus from Savelovsky station to the city of Kimra - two and a half hours, and the ticket is 3 times cheaper than by electric train. By car, you can drive 2 hours from the Moscow Ring Road (A104 highway).

The Volga is wide and deep enough. On the promenade you can get to the Kimrsky bridge. The entire bridge with the approach to it is a little over 900 meters. This is a grand technical facility. Why? Yes, because the views of the Volga and its banks from the bridge are really amazing - a feeling of admiration and joy covers the majority of people who are here for the first time.
And in Kimry there is a museum of local lore with an interesting collection of shoes produced in the 18-20th centuries. Fifteen hundred copies - boots, canvas shoes, shoes for prisoners of war, boots and children's sandals. The hall with wooden sculptures by I. M.
