Oppo is a brand that is very well known not only in China, but also outside this country. The company has representative offices, for example, in Mexico and the USA, where the company's products are quite popular. But with the Russian market, Oppo is not so smooth. The company already tried once to gain a foothold in Russia (2013), but nothing came of it. And this year the management of the company made another attempt and, apparently, it is doomed to success.
But today we will not talk about the history of the brand, but about its products - three Oppo smartphones. Reviews, specifications, cost, delivery kits and much more - all this will be considered as part of this review. Let's get started!
Description
To review Oppo smartphones, the most popular models recently released in 2017 were selected. The first two models are the flagship R11 and the F5 selfie expert. I would like to note right away that the price of devices is far from the lowest, but, in comparison with other more well-known brands, it can be safely called acceptable. The third model that will be discussed is another representative of the Oppo F-Series smartphone lineup, the F3. Little is known about this model and officially it is not for sale in Russia yet.
Oppo f3
This model was introduced back in the summer of 2017, but the device has not yet hit the Russian market. It can be bought at one of the online stores in China, India and some other countries. In addition to the regular version, there is also an Oppo F3 Plus model, but it is sold only in the Indian market. Her appearance in Russia is under a very big question, but the usual "troika" is likely to appear. So we will consider it precisely.
Equipment
Oppo F3 is sold in a small white cardboard box. The device itself is shown on the top of the package, and below you can read the characteristics. By the way, the box here is not cheap. Its coating is quite pleasant and resembles a kind of matte surface.
The delivery package for the smartphone is quite interesting. Firstly, there is a proprietary paper clip for opening the SIM card tray. Secondly, the company provides each buyer with a transparent silicone case. It is well made, factory rough seams are not here. The case, although simple, is still nice to see. Many manufacturers do not even put such cases in a box.
Further, here you can find a set of instructions in the form of books, a micro-USB charging cable, white in-ear headphones with a microphone and a 2 amp charger adapter, which is pretty good.
Appearance
The appearance of the smartphone is simply excellent. The case is made of metal, the build quality is very high. The choice is given to users only 2 color options: gold and pink-gold (as indicated on the official website). On the right side of the smartphone, at the very top, there is a tray for SIM cards. It opens simply with a company paper clip. The tray here is very pleasantly pleased, because it allows you to install not only 2 nano-SIM cards, but also a memory card up to 128 GB.
Below the tray is the power / lock button. Managing it is a little uncomfortable, since it is located slightly higher, but after a while you can get used to it. On the left side, the F3 has only 2 volume buttons. They are made not by a single rocker, but by separate keys - this is convenient.
At the back there is only a 13MP main camera and a single LED flash. At the top there is only a microphone hole. But below the external speaker, micro-USB connector, a second microphone and a 3.5 mm jack for headphones.
The front panel here looks like on most other smartphones. Above is a conversational speaker, a light and proximity sensor, an LED informing about missed events, and immediately 2 front cameras of 16 megapixels and 8 megapixels for incredibly cool selfies. At the bottom there was only a mechanical "Home" button with a built-in fingerprint scanner, as well as two touch keys on the left and right - "Back" and "Menu".
Screen
The display here has a diagonal of 5.5 inches, and the matrix is made using TFT IPS technology. Resolution FullHD, i.e. 1920x1080. There is no air gap, which makes the sensor more responsive. There is an oleophobic coating and it is very high quality, the finger glides perfectly. As for the screen itself, it has the correct color reproduction, high contrast and a good margin of brightness. Factory calibration is almost perfect, yet there is a slight bias towards cold shades. The viewing angles are very decent, there are no distortions when tilting.
Specifications
Characteristics of the smartphone Oppo F3 are quite good. The processor uses the 8-core Mediatek MT6750T. Video accelerator MaliT86-MP2. By the way, the version with the Plus prefix uses better hardware - Snapdragon 653 and Adreno 505. Nevertheless, F3 allows you to play heavy games with maximum graphics settings without problems and provides the necessary level of performance for fast and smooth operation of the OS.
By default, the smartphone has 64 GB of internal memory, but if this is not enough, you can insert a USB flash drive up to 128 GB. The amount of RAM is 4 GB, which is more than enough at the moment. The battery has a capacity of 3200 mAh, which raises some questions about autonomy. Most likely, with the active use of the charge will be enough for about a day.
The front camera has 2 modules of 16 and 8 megapixels. This combination allows you to get incredibly high-quality selfies and record video in high resolution. The main camera has a 13 megapixel model, which, by the way, photographs very well. Some sources of information say that there is a module from the Samsung Galaxy S7, but it is difficult to say whether this is so. In any case, the photos are cool, and for fans of manual shooting, a separate mode with a lot of settings is provided.
The operating system here is Android 6.0 with a future upgrade to version 7. As a shell, the proprietary ColorOS interface is used. The shell is somewhat reminiscent of MIUI or FLymeOS. It is convenient to use, there are cool branded widgets.
Reviews and price
Unfortunately, there are no reviews for the Oppo F3 smartphone, since the phone is not yet officially sold in Russia. As for value, it also continues to be unknown. But if you start from prices in China or India, then, most likely, with us it will cost around 18,500-20,000 rubles, and taking into account VAT and the PCT, the price tag can even rise to 23-25 thousand.
Smartphone Oppo F5
Consider the following model. This is a frameless smartphone Oppo F5. He is the "big brother" of the F3, which has slightly improved features. We will not specifically describe everything, we will consider only the main points that are most important.
Design and appearance
There is no point in talking about the bundling, because the box in which the smartphone goes is approximately similar to the F3, as well as everything else. The only difference is that with the F3 the manufacturer put the silicone case in the kit, while the F5 comes with a plastic bumper. It is made worse, and it doesn’t look very good.
The appearance of the Oppo F5 smartphone is somewhat similar to the previous model. The case is also made of metal, and the display has rounded corners. The controls are located exactly the same as the Oppo F3. The main difference of the “five” is that there is no mechanical key under the screen, just like the new Iphone. On the back of the device is a fingerprint scanner and the main camera with a flash.
The design of the phone can not be called unique or memorable. Yes, it looks cool, there are 3 colors to choose from: gold, black and red. But with all this, the appearance is somewhat reminiscent of a mixture of Iphone 8 and OnePlus.
Display
The screen is one of the main advantages of the F5 model. It has a resolution of 2160 × 1080 pixels and an aspect ratio of 18: 9. The company called this resolution FullHD +. This is actually very convenient, especially for games or watching videos. The matrix of the screen is made using LTPS TFT technology. The diagonal is 6 inches.
Color reproduction is very good, there is a margin of brightness. In contrast, questions also do not arise. In general, the F5 screen is calibrated much better than the "three". Viewing angles are decent here and the image looks equally good at different angles. Multi-touch support recognizes up to 10 simultaneous touches.
Model Features
Now you can go on to the description of the smartphone Oppo F5, more precisely, its characteristics. There is already much more interesting, since on sale you can find 2 versions of the device. The first offers the user 32GB of internal memory and 4GB of RAM. The second has already 6 GB of RAM and 64 GB of internal memory. In addition, there is support for memory cards up to 256 GB. The slot for SIM cards and a USB flash drive is the same as in F3.
The processor uses the 8-core Mediatek MT6763T. The video accelerator, respectively, costs from Mali. The performance level of the smartphone shows a good one. There are no problems with games either.
The operating system here is Android 7.1, and the brand ColorOS is used as a shell. There are no jams, brakes or freezes, everything works very quickly. I especially want to note the speed of the fingerprint scanner. Unlocking the device takes less than 0.5 seconds.
Two cameras - the main one at 16 megapixels and the front one at 20 megapixels. The quality of the photos does not raise questions. There is a separate manual mode, which gives complete freedom for creativity. Pleases and aperture optics. In the main camera, it is 1.8, and in the front camera - 2.0.
Well, the last thing is the battery. Its volume is the same as that of the F3 - 3200 mAh.
Cost and user reviews
Unlike F3, there are reviews about the Oppo F5 smartphone, since this smartphone has already been presented in Russia and is being sold, though not everywhere else. So, users note that the smartphone has a couple of shortcomings, namely: the lack of an NFC module, weak autonomy, and sometimes light brakes appear in the camera interface. Otherwise, no one has any complaints.
At the moment, you can buy Oppo F5 at a price of about 25 thousand rubles for the 4/32 GB version. Version 6-64 GB is not yet sold in Russia.
Flagship Oppo R11
R11 is, you can say, the new Oppo smartphone, which was introduced almost recently. The model is a flagship and will soon begin to be sold in our country. Let's see how R11 differs from F3 and F5.
Options and appearance
About the delivery kit, you can say so - all the smartphones described today have almost the same equipment: a smartphone, a clip for the SIM tray, instructions, headphones, a charging cable, a power adapter and a case. In this case, the manufacturer put a transparent silicone case, and not a plastic bumper, like the F5.
The appearance is also very similar to what we have already seen, in particular, R11 can in some sense be considered an advanced version of Oppo F3. The location of the controls and connectors is the same as before. In front of the smartphone is a familiar set of sensors and a front camera of 20 megapixels. There is also the traditional mechanical Home button, which also serves as a fingerprint scanner, as well as two touch buttons on the left and right sides, but without backlight. The most important change in R11 is at the back - it is a dual camera 20 + 16 megapixels.
By the way, what else I want to say about the case is that it is all-metal, without plastic parts on top and bottom. It's good.
Screen
R11 has a 5.5-inch display, and the resolution is 1920 × 1080. The matrix here is already not IPS, but AMOLED. The picture quality is very good and clear. The color reproduction is excellent, as well as the contrast. The only thing missing here is the brightness margin. In very sunny weather, you have to literally peer at the screen. It is also worth noting the shift in color temperature more towards the cold side, but with everyday use of the device this will not be noticeable.
Specifications
The Chinese smartphone Oppo R11 has pretty good specifications, though they can be called flagships with a stretch, but still. The processor here is installed from Qualcomm - this is the Snapdragon M660. Adreno 512 is used as a video accelerator, and the amount of RAM is 4 GB. Unfortunately, there is no 6 GB version. Nevertheless, such a filling is enough not only for the comfortable operation of the device, but also for games on the maximum schedule. As for the amount of internal memory, it is 64 GB + there is support for memory cards up to 256 GB.
The battery here is set to 3000 mAh, but in combination with a less energy-consuming processor, display and good optimization, the smartphone can easily work up to two days without recharging, in moderate use, of course. And besides, the charging process will not take much time, using VOOC technology - just a few minutes, according to the company.
The operating system here is Android 7.1. ColorOS is used as a shell - in principle, everything is standard for Oppo. You can’t say anything special about cameras. Photographs a smartphone gorgeous, and at any time of the day and under any conditions. Perhaps it does not reach the level of the Galaxy S8, but still very worthy.
Reviews and price
Unfortunately, there are no reviews for the Oppo R11 smartphone, since the smartphone has not yet officially appeared on sale. But if we turn to foreign reviews, then there are only 2 main drawbacks - the lack of an NFC module and slight slowdowns in the camera interface (apparently this is a problem for all Oppo smartphones).
Well, in conclusion, a few words about how much the Oppo R11 smartphone costs. At the moment, in some stores you can pre-order the device at a price of 30 thousand rubles. There is an assumption that when the model is officially presented, its cost will increase to 33-35 thousand, but this is not entirely accurate information.
