We will figure out how to knit a hat-helmet with knitting needles for a boy, if the volume of his head is 40-44 cm.
To work, you will need very little yarn (preferably warm sheep’s wool), knitting needles, stocking knitting needles, crochet hook, a quarter meter plush beige color, one button with a diameter of two cm, one applique.
Knit the front surface as usual - in the front rows - the front loops, in the wrong rows - the wrong ones, but when the row is circular, then all the loops should be front.
The garter stitch should be knitted as follows: the front loops will be in the front and back rows, but if the row is circular, then one row in turn should be knitted with the front ones and one with the wrong loops.
A plush is needed in order to carve out a lining for the hat.
Additions are very simple: either add one loop each before or after the edge loops.
We knit a hat-helmet. Beginning of work
Hat helmet (master class will explain how everything is done) it does not fit very hard. On the knitting needles we dial 92 loops. First, we knit 56 stitches with front stitch - this is for the back of the cap. For the fastener strip in the product, you need to use the remaining 36 loops, knitting them with a garter stitch in the forward and reverse rows.
The third row should be knitted as follows: an edge loop, add one loop, then 8 front, add one loop, front, add one loop, another 36 front, add one loop, one front, add one loop, eight front, add one loop, one facial and 36 garter stitches.
Such additions must be done twice more in every second row of his work. The main rule: the first addition should be done immediately after the edge loop, * the next addition - until the next again added loop, the next addition - after the next newly added loop, repeat * once, at the end add before the loops in a garter stitch.

Simultaneously with this work in the third row - in order to prepare the holes for the buttons - it is necessary to close from the 29th to the 31st loops of the strap relating to the fastener. From the front to the broach
Now, applying all 104 loops, knit the front surface in circular rows (the row begins after the last loop of the garter stitch). After 15 cm is connected from the very beginning of the work, we note several loops - the 1st, 26th, 27th, 52nd, 53rd, 78th, 79th and 104th. In every second row, the first of the two adjacent to the marked loops must be knitted with the front one along with the previous one, and the second should be knitted with the next loop together with a broach (remove one loop, tie one front and stretch it through the removed loop).
The remaining eight stitches must be pulled together with the working thread. The entire edge (even the fastener bar) should be tied with one row of single crochet columns (use, of course, a hook).
Helmet. Final stage
To make a lining, parts are usually sewn together end-to-end. The narrow sides of the textile part are sewn to each other, they are embedded in the knitted part. If necessary, then everything can be sized.
Now you can sew in a circle and a straight edge. Insert the prepared lining with the wrong side to the wrong side of the helmet-hat, and if necessary, trim the edges according to the edges of the hat.
Sew the edges of the lining to the cap around with a secret seam very carefully, as if in diameter. Sew on a button and applique.
