Once upon a time, in 1711, on a cold November day in the small village of Arkhangelsk province, Mikhail Lomonosov was born. His family was quite prosperous. His father, Vasily Dorofeevich, was a Pommer peasant, and his mother, Elena Ivanovna, was the daughter of a graveyard mallow.
