Legally, since 1953, and practically since 1948, the Korean people are divided into two parts. In South Korea (or the Republic of Korea), a market economy operates. There are other attributes of a democratic society: a multiparty system, unemployment, and US military bases. All this is not in the DPRK. The decoding of the abbreviated name of the country says that the country is a people's democracy, and the government in it is republican. And, of course, all this is in North Korea, the letter “K” indicates this, and the absence of “C” indicates a hope for a common bright future for the entire peninsula.
Why democratic?
The decision on military support for North Korea during the 1950-1953 war was made in Moscow and Beijing. Kim Il Sung has made attempts to launch an offensive before, but Stalin was not up to Southeast Asia then, and Mao Tse Dong did not have enough resources for full-scale assistance. In Russian (as well as in English), the names of China and Korea begin with the same letter. Reflections on how to mark the new proletarian state on the world map led to a logical decision to add one letter, at least in order not to confuse the PRC and the DPRK. The decoding of the name must certainly contain the word "folk." China dispensed with democracy. North Korea received the additional letter “D”. This is not added freedom.
Geography
The entire territory of the Korean Peninsula north of the 38th parallel is the country of the DPRK. Decoding RK (RC) refers to the southern part, separated from the second half by wide rows of barbed wire, minefields (this is a demilitarized zone) and fortified areas. The country has two more frontier land borders: with China and the Russian Federation. The shores are washed by two seas: the Japanese and the Yellow. Pyongyang is the capital. Area - more than 120 thousand square kilometers. There is a lot of water in the country, its surface area is 130 square kilometers, but with drinking tight, it is not enough.
The climate is severe, it is very cold in winter and sultry in summer. However, there is another name for Korea - "Country of Morning Freshness", eloquently talking about the love of the inhabitants of the peninsula for their homeland, their ability to find and appreciate the pleasant moments of life.
Juche - the man in the center
Almost the entire population of the country (99%) mastered the letter. But this is not enough, the North Koreans are constantly improving their understanding of the world. It is not simple. Juche is the dominant ideology in the DPRK. The interpretation of this concept is rather vague and has an abstract philosophical character. In essence, this is one of the branches of Marxism on a strictly materialistic basis, which does not prevent, however, from giving many features of an eastern deity to its creator, Kim Il Sung, as well as his co-author, and at the same time his son, Kim Jong Il. Numerous miraculous actions of these theorists and philosophers are depicted on paintings, songs are composed about them, and in the center of all this riot of colors and melodies is a man in whose name everything is done in the DPRK. Deciphering his name is completely redundant.
Economy
Perhaps it is a philosophical understanding of the realities that helps the hardworking and stubborn Koreans, under the leadership of the Labor Party, to overcome adversity and come to terms with difficulties, and there are many of them. The average life expectancy of a DPRK citizen is less than 64 years; according to this indicator, the country takes 149 place in the world ranking. Medical care is in poor condition due to the scarcity of the budget.
The main trading partner of North Korea is China, but the turnover is small - only 2.8 billion US dollars with a deficit of 1.3 billion.
The population of the country located in Southeast Asia is small - 23 million people (2006). Despite this, the People’s Army is second only to the armed forces of India, the USA and China, it has more than a million bayonets. Weapons have nuclear weapons and their delivery vehicles.
Soldiers here serve for a long time, from 5 to 12 years.
International experts assess the general state of the economy as a phase of stagnation, problems are present in all spheres of life of DPRK citizens. Deciphering the only digital media, Kwanmen means "Internet." The network is not connected to the world wide web.
