This St. Petersburg metro station is included in the Moscow-Petrograd line or line No. 2 and is considered the blue metro line. She has been assigned an OZ code. And today it is located between two metro stations: on the one hand - "Specific", and on the second - "Prospect of Education."
Most likely, the stop is in demand due to its excellent location. The fact is that the Ozerki metro station is located in the Vyborgsky district in the Shuvalovo-Ozerki district, on Poklonnaya Gora, and this is exactly the territory where two main highways of the metropolis intersect at once: Engels Avenue, the main transport artery of St. Petersburg, and Vyborg highway. Here they, together with Severny and Toreza avenues, create a very vast area.
Ozerki metro station begins its work and opens for visitors in the morning at 5:41 and works until 0:41 at night.
For the convenience of passengers underground, there is coverage for such mobile operators as Tele2, Beeline, MTS and Megafon.
The history of the construction of the metro "Ozerki"
Back to the past. The official opening of the station took place on August 19, 1988. In addition, it is known that in 1963 the Ozerki district was annexed to the composition of the city of Leningrad.
The name of the station comes from its current location in this historic district, in an area concentrated around Suzdal lakes or lakes.
The project of the Ozerki metro station was developed by several architects at once. So, the underground hall was designed by well-known specialists G.N. Bulgakov, V.F. Drozdov, V.V. Popov, L.M. Chetyrkin and I.G. Lohanov, but the ground pavilion - G.N. Bulgakov, V.M. Rivlinom, V.F. Drozdov, S.E. Kiselov, V.V. Popov, V.N. Lovkachev and B.G. Kostygov.
Station features
The object is quite interesting in architectural terms. The fact is that the building of the ground lobby is built in the unusual shape of a rectangle, which has a portal extending inward. It is glazed on all sides. The composition of the building is complemented by several lamps arranged around, as well as lanterns, balls.
The underground structure of the Ozerki metro station includes a single-arch deep-laid (about 59 m deep) apron hall with a single direct island platform. It is decorated with orange-colored marble diabase and granite, and travertine was used to decorate the subway track walls. The underground floor of the station and the end wall are decorated with mosaic paintings, which are a kind of natural solitude and relaxation in quiet corners of the ground part of these same Lakes.
The mosaic decoration of the station was performed by such well-known artists at the time of construction as V.V. Sukhov, N.P. Fomin and S.N. Repin. The project manager was I.G. Urals. By the way, it should be noted that it is unusual, but at the same time, the lights above the apron look very beautiful. They are created as compounds of molecules.
The exit from the station to the city or the so-called inclined passage is located at the northern end of the structure and today has three escalators. From it, passengers immediately get to the intersection of Engels Avenue, the main highway of the city, and Vyborg highway. This place is so recognizable that the Ozerki metro is an address that is known not only to every Petersburger, but also to guests of the Northern capital.
It should be noted that near the station there is a wonderful forest park called Sosnovka, which has a rich history. Not everyone knows that during the Great Patriotic War a special airfield was located here.
The area of ββthe modern park is 302 hectares.
