The Republic of Bashkortostan is a
subject of the Russian Federation, which received its name in honor of the Bashkir, an indigenous people living in this territory. It is located exactly on the border of Asia and Europe in the southern part of the high Ural Mountains. The Republic of Bashkortostan belongs to the

City Ufa
The capital of the Republic of Bashkortostan is one of the fifteen million-plus cities in the Russian Federation. It was founded in 1574 right on the banks of the river called Belaya. Occupying an area of more than 700 square meters on the territory of the Bashkir Urals km, the city stretches from southwest to northeast for as much as fifty kilometers. The main industries in which a large part of the population is employed are engineering and oil refining. The basis of the capital’s economy is the fuel and energy complex. It is located one hundred and twenty kilometers south of the capital and is an important center of mechanical engineering and the chemical industry. This is a developed industrial settlement with a well-established transport system and full infrastructure. The economy of Sterlitamak is based on various petrochemical and chemical enterprises.
City of Salavat
The largest cities of Bashkortostan include one of the centers of the so-called South Bashkortostan agglomeration - the city of Salavat. It is located one hundred and sixty kilometers south of the capital. This is a fairly powerful production center, the population of which is steadily approaching the mark of seven hundred thousand. Such cities of Bashkortostan as Salavat are regional centers of the oil refining and chemical industries. Currently, it produces liquid fuel, high-pressure polyethylene, butyl alcohols and nitrogen fertilizers. In addition, the city has factories for the production of metal structures, technical glass, mineral wool and reinforced concrete products.
October city
Speaking of the largest populated centers of Bashkortostan, it is impossible not to mention Oktyabrsky. This city was founded in 1937 in the west of the republic, one hundred eighty kilometers from Ufa. Its area is about ninety-nine square kilometers. This settlement has a significant mineral resource base to ensure the production of various building materials. For example, concrete sands and sand and gravel mixes are released on the Russian market by the city of Oktyabrsky. Bashkortostan, thanks to the latter, is also famous for its fuel industry.
