All children love the holidays, especially the New Year, some kind of masquerade or carnival. In this case, parents have a choice: buy an outfit, rent it, or try to do it on their own. So, today we will talk about how to sew a ladybug costume. There may be several varieties of it.
The easiest option
If a suit is needed for a girl, then a dark skirt should be used, if for a boy, then trousers. A dark turtleneck or shirt can be worn on top. If desired, you can sew or knit a yellow collar and attach to clothing. An improved headband should be worn on the head (you must first sew on the antennae from dark fabric), and on the back - a cloak of thick red fabric. Round black dots should be sewn onto this raincoat, spangled or tinsel around the edges. All the wings are made. Actually, the ladybug costume is ready.
Complicated Option
This option is more complicated, but the result is excellent. To sew a ladybug costume, you will need a meter of red mesh fabric (piece width is one and a half meters), two meters of stiff wire, a piece of black cloth, threads of red and black colors, electrical tape, a satin ribbon (red, black) half a centimeter wide, and a thick red ribbon (five centimeters wide), matches or a lighter, glue, pins, wooden or plastic sticks (two sushi sticks are suitable), elastic bands for hair, a centimeter, pliers, a plastic card. Ladybug costume consists of a wand, a skirt (if it's a girl) and wings.
Wings
First you need to make wings. From a red mesh folded in half, cut a large circle (two pieces for two wings, a diameter of about 20 centimeters), sew, twist. Now cut a piece of wire longer than the circumference of the wing and insert it into the wing. Fasten the pieces remaining on the outside of the two wings, that is, connect the wings (wrap all sharp edges with tape). In the center of the connection, tie an elastic band or a black ribbon (with the help of its wings will be attached) and close the connection with a wide red ribbon. Sew pre-cut black spots onto the wings themselves.
Skirt
A Christmas ladybug costume for a girl is unthinkable without a beautiful skirt. Take two pieces of a grid 20 centimeters wide and about 2 meters long and make folds on each using a plastic card (fasten folds with a safety pin). When everything is folded, stitch the red ribbon on one piece of the net, and black on the other. Connect the edges of each piece in a ring so that they are tied with a ribbon. Sew the bottom edge with tape or braid. The result is two fluffy skirts. Put them on one another, sew black circles.
Magic wand
Ladybug costume may well be complemented by such an unusual accessory, fulfilling wishes. Coat the stick with glue and wrap it with a red ribbon, decorate with ribbons and beads on top. Everything, the outfit is ready. It remains only to put it on with a black turtleneck and tights, and you can go on a holiday. Your child will undoubtedly be one of the most beautiful at the carnival.
