Jabot (fr. Jabot) is a lace or fabric decoration of clothes that resembles a frill that descends from the neck of a shirt, blouse or women's dress down the chest line. Men's suit detail
Now the men's suit has more strict forms and our men are accustomed to ties or, in extreme cases, a bow tie. But at the wedding ceremony, you can wear a more elegant outfit, for example, with such a frill. With your own hands on the pattern, it is not difficult to sew it. You will need a narrow neck strip that fastens at the back, under the collar of a shirt with a button, hook or velcro. The frill itself is represented by two rhombs of different sizes.
Below is a large, on top is a smaller element. It will take an overlock to trim the edges of delicate material. After the workpieces are processed, two rhombuses are joined together and, having gathered the upper edge, sew it on the rim. All the do-it-yourself stitched frill is completed.
Lace assembly
The next version of lace jewelry is easy to sew. This can be done by both the beginning seamstress and the person who does not have a sewing machine. You will need a ribbon of wide lace in black, a large beautiful button or brooch and a satin black ribbon for a bow. We will make a frill with our own hands in this way:
1. Cut the lace into equal segments so that in assembled form they are of the desired width for the frill.
2. The upper part of the strips must be sewn with black thread stitches and tighten the thread to the desired size.
3. Next, you can sew one frill on the other, or you can use the central bar, which is attached to the neckband.
4. When all the frills are attached, the top bow with a brooch is formed and everything is sewn to a strip of fabric or a satin ribbon, which is attached under the collar of the blouse at the back of the neck.

Frill Collar

To make such a pattern, you must first measure the circumference of the neck and draw a circle of the required diameter. Then add the width of the frill and first draw a circle. Then the lower part of the circle is extended with the help of patterns, forming a smooth oval.
If you want to sew a one-sided frill with your own hands, then in the center the oval is cut in half. Then the template is folded, creating future shuttlecocks of the accessory, smoothing them well with a ruler or fingers. Then, according to the template, a pattern is drawn on the material and the treated fabric is sewn onto a neck bandage.
To get a two-sided part, as in the photo above, the second remaining part of the oval is folded to the other side and a frill is cut onto the fabric, which is sewn to the neck bandage next to the first.
Whole frill
If the oval, drawn according to the previous pattern, is not cut, then you can make an integral frill with your own hands, as in the photo below. The oval should not be cut in half, but drawn in the center of a straight line dividing it into two equal parts. Only the top line above the neckline is cut. Then the fabric is folded in the opposite folds and ironed so that the folds do not diverge and it was convenient to sew them together on the neckband. It can be done not circular around the neck, but on two buttons that are sewn under the collar of a shirt or dress. It only remains if you want to fasten the jewelry and the outfit is ready.
