Creating a beautiful pile carpet is not at all difficult. Even inexperienced novice craftswomen can easily cope with this task. To do this, it is enough to master embroidery in carpet technique. This embroidery technique is of two kinds;
Buttonhole - the embroiderer creates a pattern on a dense canvas with a needle for carpet weaving. The pattern is formed by neat rows of loops, like on a palace.
Nodular - knots are tied with a special hook on the weaves of the vinyl canvas. The finished product is obtained with a soft and fluffy pile.

Carpet embroidery technique is suitable for making decorative pillows, carpets and bedspreads. The mat with your favorite character in a game or cartoon will light up the eyes of a little fan with joy.
Inexperienced embroiderers can start with a ready-made kit. The set includes a special canvas - stramin, with a color pattern applied to it. Cut into pieces acrylic yarn of the required colors. Equipment and tools
Ready-made kits are not cheap. But you can buy the necessary materials and tools yourself. In this case, the pattern and size of the product depend only on your desire. For the template, any pattern for cross-stitch is suitable. One cross - one knot.
Stramin is the basis of any knotted carpet. In fact, it is a very strong and tough synthetic canvas. Small items, including pillowcases, can be embroidered on a regular large canvas. Aida 11 is quite suitable for this purpose. Dear stramin can be replaced with a stucco or sirloin mesh with small cells.
Threads are best used acrylic or woolen. Faux yarn products are easier to care for. The larger the mesh cells, the thicker the thread. If canvas is used, then you can take thread for embroidery.
A carpet weaving hook can be bought at any store selling handicrafts. The finer the thread and the finer the cell, the finer the hook. The knitting machine needle has the same design so that it can be used if necessary.
Preparation for work and technology
Carpet embroidery technique is performed by pieces of yarn 5-7 centimeters long. Before you start work, you need to prepare the threads of all the necessary shades. Wrap the yarn in tight rows on a bar or ruler 3 cm wide, and then cut it on one side.
Divide the canvas into 10 by 10 squares. Same as the pattern for embroidery. This can be done with a marker or a thread of contrasting color. When expanding the canvas, leave 5-7 centimeters for the hem. It’s more convenient to start work from the upper left corner.
1. Take the thread of the desired color, fold in half. Throw the resulting loop onto the hook.
2. Thread the hook head under one canvas thread.
3. Insert the loose ends of the thread into the hook lock and pull it back. Tighten the loop obtained with your fingers. The resulting loop should look like in the picture.
4. Having thus filled the first square, proceed to the next.
Finished work due to protruding ends may look messy. In this case, the threads must be cut. The carpet embroidery technique allows you to create a plain rug, the pattern of which will be created by threads of different lengths.
But the difference in length should be no more than one centimeter, otherwise the product will look shaggy.
