Those who want to relax in a cozy and quiet place and improve their health should discover such a resort place in Slovakia as Bardeevskie Fonts. However, it gained fame for a long time, the first mention of fonts dates back to 1247. Even then, the people who lived in the district used the healing waters of the springs, which they beat with keys from under the ground. Currently, it is one of the famous resorts in Slovakia, famous for its fonts, baths, mud and unique mineral waters.
Historical reference
Bardeev is one of the most beautiful spa towns in Slovakia. Seven centuries ago, it became known for its mineral waters, which have a beneficial effect on the gastrointestinal tract. Healing water from mineral springs was taken even to Berlin, Budapest, Vienna. In 1505, construction began on the first font for patients. In 1777, a house with 12 rooms was built for relaxation. Polish and Hungarian nobles came to be treated "on the water". The news of the wonderful waters was spreading in Europe, and soon the reigning persons began to come to the Bardeevsky font, even for the family of the Habsburg dynasty, the font was a favorite vacation spot.
In 1795, Professor Pavol Kitaybel made water analyzes from two then known sources - Kurortny and Glavny. The professor’s report informed the medical community that water should be used in the treatment of headaches, female diseases, gout, and stomach diseases. From that moment began the export of water from mineral springs to European countries. The heyday of the resort falls on the first half of the XIX century. By this time, spa treatments used water from 13 sources.
Resort Location
There are not many resort places where the climatic conditions are ideally combined, a convenient location with a beautiful environment and mineral springs with healing water. This fertile place on the territory of the coniferous-deciduous forest area of 1000 hectares is located above sea level at an altitude of 325 meters.
