The legendary Pshada waterfalls in the Caucasus

There is a river in the Caucasus with the mysterious name Pshada, which means “valley of calm” in Abkhazian. There is a legend that once the current surroundings of Pshada were chosen by the swift north wind named Borey. He could not stand anyone in his lands, and as soon as someone settled here, Borey immediately flew in, sweeping everything in his path, destroying the houses built by people.

Northwind

But once an old man settled on the lands of Borea with his adult daughter. I found out the north wind that someone was living on his lands again, and rushed to these people. But, not calculating the strength, crashed into a rock. Borey fell, and the old man, waving a stick, already wanted to kill him, but his daughter stopped him. She began to heal the evil Borea and soon healed. Then Borey decided to get married to the girl, but she told him that she was born of a man, and the laws of the gods are alien to her. As a result, the north wind left these places forever, so he expressed his gratitude for the healing. According to this legend, it was from then on that this land began to be called the valley of calm.
