A long scarf, knitted round and without edges, has become the favorite of many girls. Its main value is that snud successfully replaces a hat, a scarf and a high collar, allowing you to save the volume of your hair and effectively protect it from wind and frost. Novice craftswomen appreciate this product because there are enough elementary skills to knit a snood with knitting needles. A diagram and description of some simple models will be proposed below.
How does snood fit
The procedure for manufacturing a snud is slightly different from the process of knitting a classic scarf. This product can be made in two ways:
- Knitting fabrics along (long rows).
- Work with short rows.
Each of these methods has its advantages. By and large, the choice of knitting method does not really matter. Accuracy of knitted fabric and edges, even loops and uniform thread tension - these are the main conditions that are necessary in order to get a beautiful snood with knitting needles. A pattern of almost any pattern designed for knitting can be used to create a circular scarf. It is easy to adapt to work with long or short rows.
Wide scarf knitted with front stitch
This snood with knitting needles (the diagram and description is elementary here) is intended for those who want to quickly see the result of their work. Work with large knitting needles with a thick thread provides such an opportunity.
Such a product, without exaggeration, can be connected in a couple of evenings. By the way, it would be wrong to say that the model is suitable only for beginners in knitting. Indeed, experienced craftswomen so sometimes want to escape from complex braids, weaves, Irish lace and other knitting wisdom. An ideal vacation can be called a simple scarf-snood knitting. The scheme is not needed here, since the work is done by the front surface.
The photo shows the possible uses of a circular scarf. As already mentioned, it is very convenient to use instead of a hat. Snood also serves as a vest and decorative drapery.
Making a snud
In order to knit the above snud with knitting needles (the scheme consists in performing circular rows with facial loops), the first method was used: work with long rows.
To determine the required number of loops, it is necessary to perform a control sample. Its size should be about 12 cm in length and in height. After measuring it, it will become known how many loops are required to form a 10 cm web. In this example, this number is 7 loops, since a very thick thread is selected.
The total length of the scarf is 150 cm. Using the proportion, you can calculate how many loops you need to dial: 150x7 / 10 = 105 loops. You can dial loops using any convenient method. Then, having closed a row in a ring, it is necessary to start knitting a scarf in a circle. Thus, there will be no seam, and you can work only with facial loops.
When the height of the canvas is 40 cm (or other planned width), you can close the hinges, as it turned out ready snood with knitting needles. A diagram of a more complex pattern is given later in the article.
Volume Scarf
A feature of the pattern of this scarf is the alternation of the front and back rows. In general, the sequence of steps coincides with that described earlier, however, in addition to performing exclusively facial loops, the wrong ones are also introduced into the pattern.
After the loops are dialed and knitted the first four front rows, you need to begin to perform the rows with purl loops. To get a clear line of separation of patterns, you need to take care in advance to mark the beginning of each row. The back rows should also be knitted four. If desired, the stripes can be made uneven.
Knitting scarf-snood: knitting pattern "checkerboard"
The next model is knitted in short rows to a height of 150 cm, and then the ends of the scarf are sewn with a knitted seam. A feature of this snud becomes a modified pattern. It is based on the simplest ornament, which is often called a “chessboard”.
This pattern can be used in its original form and get a rather interesting snood with knitting needles, the knitting pattern of the classic "chess" is proposed below. However, the craftswoman who knitted the scarf depicted in the photo decided to halve the number of loops and rows of each rapport. In addition, she took care of the straps made of
garter stitch.To get the same knitting needles, the scheme should look like this:
- 1 r: facial smoothness.
- 2, 3 r: 3 front loops, 3 wrong.
- 4, 5 r: 3 wrong loops, 3 front loops.
Next, you need to repeat the specified sequence until the snood is ready for knitting. Knitting patterns for other double-sided patterns are also great for making circular scarves. For the formation of planks along the edges of the scarf, each row (both the front and the back) must begin and end with knitting five face loops.
