DOSAAF abbreviation - what is it? Surely this question interests everyone who has ever come across this word. This organization celebrated its sixty-fifth anniversary in 2016. In the anniversary year, Chairman Alexander Kolmakov, who is the chairman of DOSAAF, said that by 2020 18 centers will appear in Russia, where active work will be carried out as part of military-patriotic education. In the Soviet Union, a voluntary society for assisting the army, aviation and navy performed slightly different tasks.
A look into the past
During the civil war, a new defense organization appeared in the Russian Soviet Federative Socialist Republic, called the Military Scientific Society. For six years - until 1926 - they studied the experience of the Civil War, developed methods for training soldiers. In addition, the specialists of the Military Scientific Society promoted military knowledge among representatives of the working class. At the end of July of the twenty-sixth year of the last century, VNO was renamed the Society for the Assistance to the Defense of the USSR. And six months later, he was connected to the Aviakhim, which included the Society of Friends of the Air Fleet and the Voluntary Society of Friends of Chemical Defense and the Chemical Industry. The new name - AVIAHIM-OCO - changed over time with another: "The Society for Assistance to the Defense and Aviation-Chemical Construction of the USSR". It was this organization that became the forerunner of DOSAAF. In 1948, DOSFLOT, DOSAV and DOSARM, independent organizations, were formed on the basis of society.
DOSAAF USSR: defense and patriotism
The year 1951 was marked by the merger of DOSFLOT, DOSAV and DOSARM in DOSAAF. The new organization was supposed to contribute to the defense capability of the Soviet Union, to prepare workers for the defense of their homeland.
