Baikal is an amazing place. Unique and unusual there is absolutely everything - clear water, high hills, deep depressions, sandbanks, animal and plant life. Very often, the size of the lake is compared with some European countries. Every year, thousands of tourists come to the pond to enjoy the clean air and beautiful nature.
Special offer
Recently, people can not imagine a good rest without comfortable living conditions. But even travelers who are accustomed to Spartan conditions, want to lie on the beach and swim. The tourist zone “Baikal surf” can satisfy any tastes.
The complex is located on the eastern shore of the lake, in the Gulf of Posolsky Sor. The bathing bar is separated from the main body of water by an oblique, so the water warms up well in warm weather. The place is equipped with points of sale of food, water and various household items. Near the beach there are numerous points to accommodate guests.
Base "Baikal surf" has equipped cottages, summer houses, a space for camping. For leisure activities are organized sports grounds. It is possible to rent a boat or jet ski. Tourists are offered many excursion routes. Some attractions can only be reached by swimming, so no extra cost. The main places for walking are within walking distance, so you can independently explore the route and get to them without difficulty.
Natural objects
The Holy Nose Peninsula lies some distance from the Baikal Surf zone, but this does not prevent it from being a popular place for hiking. The place is famous for swamps that constantly emit gas. To the west, in the center of the lake, Ushkany islands rise - the rookery of the Baikal seal. Ushkany means "hare." This name was previously given to sea seals.
The archipelago is famous for its unique vegetation: Daurian larch, birch with black bark and many others. The territory is under protection, since 2011 only scientists have been allowed to be on it. You can see the famous seal from the deck of a cruise ship.
On the eastern shore, in relative proximity to the Baikal surf complex, is Spirit Lake. Fish is caught there perfectly, especially crucian carp, which is found in large numbers there. From the bottom of the reservoir gas bubbles rise, which creates the effect of "breathing" water. This property is associated with the legend of lovers who, due to the hostility of the families, could not be together and drowned.
Historical reconstruction
Next to the Spirit Lake is the Svetlaya Polyana Museum. It recreates the life of the local population of the times of Russian pioneers of the XVII century. The museum consists of several wooden buildings in the form of a fortification. Arangatui, a lake with a unique ornithological system, is located somewhat north. Several tens of rare birds nest on the islands of the water site.
To feel the historical places and learn the secrets of the development of Siberia, it is worth visiting Baikal. The “Baikal surf” is located near the village of Posolskoye, which received the name from the Posolsky Spaso-Preobrazhensky Monastery, founded in 1681 on the site where the Russian ambassadors who traveled to Mongolia with great values were killed. On the territory there are two temples built in the XVIII and XIX centuries.
Hiking
A lot of hiking trails are located in the Hamar-Daban mountain range. The Baikal Surf camp site is located far from these places, so a walk can take a whole day, but it's worth it!
Mountain ranges abound in beautiful places and attractions. The first to meet are three warm lakes surrounded by mixed forests and peaks overgrown with trees. At one of the peaks there is a natural observation deck in the form of a separate rock. On the way to the reservoirs there are mighty poplars that can be grasped only if three or four people hold hands. A one-way walk takes about an hour.
Volume transitions
For more active tourists who are ready to move within two to three hours, new views and panoramas will open. These can be ponds and peaked peaks. If you have chosen campsites for rest on the Baikal surf, then you will have to travel about two hours by car to the point of departure.
The base point is usually chosen at the confluence of the Snezhnaya and Selenginka rivers. From it go to the Sobolin lakes, the water surface of which is surrounded by a wooded mountain range. Nearby in the channel of the Red River are the Skazka and Beard waterfalls. Gromotukha also has many colorful and intricate areas that form fantastic natural compositions.
After long walks and a lot of impressions, I always want to take a breather. The hostel “Baikal surf” will welcome the weary travelers affably.
