At the western end of the famous Greek island of Rhodes there is a resort area of Ixia. The pearl of these places is a town called Kolymbia. Despite its modest size, it has its own attractions. From the time of the First World War until the nineteen forty-eighth year, Rhodes belonged to Italy. And the town was founded just at a time when the Duce ruled. It was called at that time San Benedetto and was built as a resort for recreation of high command. Before Benito Mussolini’s arrival, an alley of eucalyptus trees brought from Australia was planted in the town. There are no more fascists, Rhodes began to belong to Greece ... But the eucalyptus alley remained. Ten minutes from this main and famous street in Kolymbia is the Kolymbia Sky 4 * hotel. He will be discussed in this article. We have already mentioned the distance between the hotel and the center of the town. Hotel Kolymbia Sky 4 * is located one hundred eighty meters from the pebble beach of Kolymbia. You can get there in three minutes. Diagoras International Airport is thirty kilometers from the hotel. It will be easy to go on an independent excursion to the island's capital - the city of Rhodes, as well as to the old Lindos. To both settlements from Kolymbia - twenty-five kilometers. Finding a hotel is not a problem. Not far from the bus stop stands a two-story snow-white building with a note sign. Under the entrance arcade there is a beautiful staircase, supplemented by a ramp. One hundred and fifty meters away is a sand and pebble beach. It is believed that the hotel is on the first line. Nearby there is a promenade that will lead to the famous eucalyptus alley with numerous Greek taverns and shops. Near the hotel there is a supermarket "Zeus".

Hotel Kolymbia Sky 4 * (Greece, Rhodes) was built in nineteen eighty-eight. Since then, repairs have been repeatedly carried out. The last reconstruction took place in the spring and summer of 2016. In July, the hotel again opened its doors to guests. Many tourists write that, having read old reviews, they were pleasantly surprised and even amazed at the transformed Kolimbia Sky. Firstly, the hotel has increased in status (previously it was three-star). The large area is a well-kept Mediterranean garden. Green lawns with lush bushes of lavender and two pools have a relaxing holiday. And lovers of active pastime are offered tennis courts. The hotel consists of several two-story buildings, placed so that from most of the rooms, though not frontally, but by the edge, you can see the Aegean Sea. The hotel also has parking, a playground and a mini market.
Rooms
Hotel Kolymbia Sky 4 * is quite large. It has one hundred and twelve rooms. They are not subdivided into categories, but by spaciousness. Accordingly, there are rooms for single travelers (“single”), couples (“double”), three tourists (“triple”) and families with children (“family room”). All guest rooms are spacious. Those who are located on the second floor as a bonus have very large private balconies. And the rooms at the basement are adjacent to small but comfortable terraces. The bedrooms are very nicely decorated. They are cozy, clean, tidy. The beds have comfortable mattresses and first-class bedding. Most rooms have views of the sea and pools. From others you can see the beautiful Mediterranean garden.
What is in the rooms
What impressed guests at the updated Kolymbia Sky 4 * hotel was the new brand-name technology. If the TV is flat-screen, Phillips. Incidentally, he, among fifty others, broadcasts one Russian channel. An air conditioner with an individual remote control from Mitsubishi has several convenient functions. In all rooms there is a small refrigerator, a radio, an electric kettle (daily bags for self-preparation of drinks are relied on for it) and a safe holding a laptop. The latter is paid, two euros per day. The bathroom has a bathtub and shower. This room has a hairdryer. Slippers and bathrobes at the hotel do not give - this is still not the "five". And the floors in the bedrooms are tiled. Therefore, it does not bother to bring slippers with you. In addition to the bed and wardrobe, the bedroom is equipped with two soft armchairs with a coffee table. The balconies of the rooms on the second floor are also furnished. The quality of daily cleaning in Greece does not depend on the tip. Maids change towels, put new hygiene products and tea / coffee bags. Recommendations for choosing a room: tourists praise the premises on the second floor. They have spacious balconies with beautiful views. You can sit, as if in a theater box, and watch the animation shows that are organized by the bar near the pool. All rooms have fast and, most importantly, free Wi-Fi.

If you accidentally did not bring a laptop or iPhone, it does not matter. Hotel Kolymbia Sky 4 * has an Internet corner, where the use of computers is free for guests. Watching TV is much nicer in the company and on the big screen. Therefore, the hotel also has a TV lounge. Parking in the guarded hotel is also not worth the money. If you arrived before the hour of official check-in, you can put your luggage in the storage room. The hotel has a shop, currency exchange and car rental, tour desk. In the evenings, open-air discos or shows are held by the outdoor bar. In addition to the playground, for the little guests of the hotel there is a branch in the pool and a mini club is organized. Add to all this a tennis court, ping-pong tables, darts and the work of an animator, and you will see that the services at Kolymbia Sky 4 * pull at a full five.
Nutrition
The hotel allows its guests to decide how many meals to pay. The color of the bracelet that you put on your hand when you check depends on this. There is an opportunity to order All Inclusive. Then all three main meals will be included. A poolside bar and snack bar will also be at your disposal for free. But there is one thing. It will be too insulting if you do not see Rhodes. After all, excursions take time and often capture the whole day, from morning to evening. And you don’t want to skip the paid lunch ... That's why most tourists choose the type of food HB (breakfast and dinner). At evening meals they give soup (several of its types). Tourists say that you can change dinner for lunch if you wish. But to do so often is not advised. For dinner, the restaurant often hosts "Greek evenings" with live music. And then the range of dishes is much wider. But with HB (half board) drinks at lunch and dinner, even if it is mineral water, are paid.

The food at the Kolymbia Sky Hotel is just great. For breakfast, they always offer one assortment of dishes. These are fried eggs and omelettes, fried bacon, sausages, cold cuts and cheese, cucumbers and other fresh vegetables, yogurts and milk with all kinds of cereal, jams, honey, butter, croissants, muffins. Afternoon and evening meals are more diverse, and the assortment of dishes changes every day. But there are always several types of meat and poultry. Each time there are two types of fish, as well as some seafood: squid, mussels or shrimp. Reviews note a wide selection of side dishes: at every evening meal on the tables are potatoes (boiled and fried), pasta, beans, green beans, corn, pickled olives and olives, stewed cabbage, white cabbage, broccoli, Brussels sprouts, cauliflower. A lot of fresh vegetables, from which you can build a salad (dressings and sauces are right there). Desserts are prepared beautifully: there were pan-European cakes and pastries, and Greek baklava. The hotel stands on the first line of the Aegean Sea. To the beach you need to walk only one hundred and fifty meters. The tourists respond very positively about the quality of the sand and pebble beach and the purity of the water. The bay of Kolymbia is very beautiful. It was believed that it is better than the advertised Tsambiki beach. The Kolymbia Sky Hotel has two pools located nearby. They are cleaned with modern methods, so that you will not feel any eye irritation from bleach when diving. The pool terrace is lined with sun loungers and parasols. But beach towels in the hotel do not give out. One of the pools has a bathing area for children.
