Many residents of the Republic of Belarus prefer to relax on the territory of the Braslav Lakes National Park. Description of the terrain and its ecosystem
This fabulous place is located in the Vitebsk region. It is here that Lake Drivyaty is located, which is one of the largest water bodies in the country. The wealth of this area is a unique aquatic ecosystem. Also around the lake there is a wide variety of flora and fauna. The native flora has more than 800 individual species. Among them are those listed in the International Red Book.
The variety of local animals is also amazing. About 40 different species of fish live in the local water bodies, so lovers of fishing with fishing rods will be able to “hunt” from the heart. Walking through the picturesque nature, vacationers notice how many feathered singers are here. Indeed, it was estimated that approximately 35% of the country's birds select this territory for nesting. A rare species is the mute swan, which was recently on the verge of extinction. Today it can be met by arriving at the "Drivyat". The recreation center attracts many people because vacationers have every chance to see flying squirrels, badgers, roe deer, moose and other wild animals. Also in these forests live bears, lynxes, wild boars.
Swimming in the lake, you can see its incredible purity. It is important to note that the local air is shrouded in the aroma of resins and trees, which exudes a forest located in the southern part of the park. Their area reaches approximately 31,000 ha. Among them are more common spruce. Also near the buildings themselves is a dense pine forest.
Housing conditions at the recreation center
The recreation center Drivyaty (Belarus) was opened in 1995. Although the territory was maintained in excellent condition, reconstruction was carried out in 2010, and after that the complex acquired a modern look and conditions necessary for rehabilitation. Comfortable rooms, well-groomed territory and the “Drivyaty” health center appeared here.
The recreation center has a complex, which includes three buildings with rooms. The first and second buildings are buildings of four floors. In each of them there are 8 standard rooms in two places. The rooms have a bedroom with two beds, a living room with a TV and sofa, a fridge, a kettle, dishes and a bathroom with a bath.
Two junior suites in which there are two bathrooms, a double bed in the bedroom, a sofa, a TV in the living room. There is a kitchenette with kitchenware, a kettle and a fridge.

No matter in which building or room you stay, the window offers a pleasant view of the pine forest. For an additional fee, you can add a third person to any room. You can also take small children with you. Hot water is always provided in the rooms.
Local infrastructure
But three buildings are not all the amenities that are in the complex “Drivyaty”. The recreation center has its own cultural and health center with a bar and restaurant. If necessary, you can order a banquet. There is a gym, steam bath, sauna with jacuzzi and pool. You can play table tennis or billiards at this center. There is entertainment for young and mischievous guests. A playground was organized for them.
On the territory there are arbors and barbecue grills for picnics. Rental points for motorboats and rowing boats, bicycles, skates and skis are also provided. You can go on an excursion or enjoy a sleigh ride.
Those who arrived in their car leave vehicles in the parking lot provided.
Food Based
The hostel's restaurant provides three meals a day with hot dishes. If necessary, you can order lunch.
Fishing
Many fishing enthusiasts come from year to year to "Drivyaty". The recreation center (Braslav lakes are famous for a huge variety of fish) has its regular customers. It often comes across bream, crucian carp, bream, tench, rudd, roach, gudgeon, carp and pike. There are also dace, Verkhovka, burbot, silver carp, common carp, ide, chub, grass carp, eel and other species. At the recreation center you can buy a ticket for recreational fishing and enjoy a real bite.
Additional information about recreation at the base
Lake Drivyaty is just a hundred meters from the buildings, so a leisurely walk to the reservoir will only give pleasure. For many years, the recreation center “Drivyaty” has become a favorite place of relaxation for many.
