As it happens with many fishing villages in Greece, the village on the island of Rhodes - Faliraki - has become a popular tourist destination, where you can sunbathe, walk, get acquainted with the sights, and generally have fun. As in many other places in this country, there is everything. Very good shopping, well-maintained beaches with all kinds of entertainment, historical monuments. For many Russians who come to Rhodes, Faliraki becomes the best choice precisely because in this village there is a balance of tourist parties on the one hand, and contemplative outdoor recreation on the other. Night life will attract young people, and hotels farther from the center will suit couples or even for a honeymoon.

Most people visit Rhodes (including Faliraki) for the beaches. They are very beautiful, wide and provide all kinds of water activities. On the promenade near the beach, you can not only take a walk, but also exercise with free simulators. However, spending day after day at sea is a little boring. Therefore, guidebooks advise sometimes to use hot time in order to visit the village itself. This is the best opportunity to explore it without too much fuss. Of course, the old quarters of the town are not ancient Greece. Rhodes - Faliraki in particular - is mainly built up with houses of the eighteenth century, that is, from the time when the first holidaymakers began to appear here. It is also recommended to visit the beautiful temple of St. Nectarios - the local patron.

For a beach holiday, it is best to go in the summer, that is, from May to September. Such is the climate on the island of Rhodes. Faliraki is nevertheless suitable for walks in parks and hiking trails, in the mountains and forests. But for active recreation they come to these places between April and October - it is not so hot, and the weather favors travel. But, of course, car rental is a solution to many problems. Thus, you can get to where no transport goes, leave the car in the parking lot and go into the mountains. By the way, you should know that it is easier for summer tourists to shop on the island - shops and shops are open until late, especially since the main influx of buyers is expected in the evenings. But the "winter" vacationers should take into account the fact that the working day can be significantly reduced.

Fine fish cuisine also made Rhodes famous. Faliraki can offer you to visit its many taverns and enjoy a catch of the day. Especially good are swordfish dishes. And the traditional fried fish trifle under lemon juice is very good as a start. And at the end of the meal, try some of the many island desserts. One of the best restaurants is the tavern "Manolis". People come here to enjoy themselves even from other resort villages: inexpensive and very tasty. And in extreme heat, try fruit ice cream, melba - it is handmade here, and from the choice of varieties your eyes just run up. Faliraki, due to its location, can also boast of restaurants offering a snack, refreshment or a serious banquet by the water itself, to the sound of waves and the cry of seagulls.
