Station "Sheremetyevo" on the subway map does not exist. But the desire to correct this annoying omission arose approximately since the first terminal of the international airport was put into operation. Only in the first time this issue was classified as debatable, but it has long passed into the category of specific projects. The need for the Sheremetyevo metro station has steadily increased as the country's main air harbor grew and developed. Accordingly, the flow of passengers in both directions grew. Something had to be done with this for a long time. The situation has especially aggravated in the last decade. Leningradskoye Shosse leading to the airport is one of the busiest in Moscow. During peak hours, it becomes one long insurmountable obstacle. To get on their flight, air passengers have to leave a few hours before it leaves.
Ways to get to the "Sheremetyevo"
The most reliable vehicle here is the Aeroexpress, regularly departing from the platform of the Belorussky Station. Perhaps only he guarantees the accuracy of arrival at the necessary airport terminal. Rail transport in no way depends on traffic jams on the Leningradskoye Shosse. But you can use other types of public transport in order to get to the Sheremetyevo airport. The Rechnoy Vokzal metro station of the Zamoskvoretskaya line is the final stop of several public transport routes, delivering passengers to airplanes around the clock. And, of course, a taxi, which no one has yet canceled. But it is expensive and does not depend on traffic jams only at night.
But do not continue the green line?
But on the question of when it will be possible to get to the Sheremetyevo metro station, it is not yet possible to give a concrete answer. There are several projects for the development of the subway in the north-western direction, but most of them are still in a sluggish discussion. It would seem that the most logical proposal is to continue the Zamoskvoretskaya line further beyond the River Station, gradually moving towards the new terminal station, to the Sheremetyevo metro station. But this idea is becoming less and less supported due to the high project cost. Costs will remain very significant even with the open option to continue the green line beyond the MKAD.
Through Khimki
Recently, the option of the so-called "light metro" seems to be more and more relevant. In this case, the metro line should arrive at the Sheremetyevo airport through the Moscow region of Khimki and its environs. The advantage of this project, in addition to its relatively low cost, is that it will be provided with a reliable transport route to the densely populated area of the Moscow Region. But at present, we only know the name of the terminal station - the Sheremetyevo metro station. But the question of the path along which the metro line will go there is still without a concrete answer. But this answer is interesting to Muscovites.
