To overcome the distance from Kiev to Nizhyn, you do not have to be a Kiev citizen. You can be just a Ukrainian, a Russian, a citizen of any world state.
By plane
If a person thinks about overcoming the Kiev-Nizhyn route by plane, he should at least be a military pilot, or rather a military pilot. Nizhyn has an airport, only takes off and lands on it air transport, one way or another connected with the Ministry of Emergencies. That is, for a simple traveler this type of transport is not suitable.
By train

But the most convenient transport in order to follow the route Kiev-Nizhyn, it should be recognized railway. Nizhyn is a fairly large junction railway station, on which trains run between Lviv and Moscow, as well as between St. Petersburg and Odessa. Therefore, the Kiev-Nizhyn crossing is provided with railway transport of all varieties. The most frequent guests in this direction arrive by ordinary trains, which begin to function from half past four in the morning until half past nine in the evening. The travel time of electric trains is two and a half hours. More comfortable conditions and a greater speed of movement (up to two hours) will be provided by electric trains of increased comfort (or, as they are now called, inter-regional trains). By train, the distance Kiev-Nizhyn is mainly covered by transit passengers. But even if the passenger is in transit, and the train stands in Nizhyn for half an hour, do not despair, you can quite comfortably take a picture with the monument to the world famous Nezhin cucumber.
By car
The car route is quite convenient. It starts on the highway Kiev-St. Petersburg, then follows a movement to the Moscow direction of the highway, and only the last twelve kilometers the road will not be of international importance. You should be aware that moving in this way along the Kiev-Nizhyn route, the distance will be a little more than one and a half hundred kilometers. There is another route for road transport, which runs along ordinary roads, sometimes of local importance. They usually follow the bus. This way will save almost fifty kilometers, but not the fact that will help in saving time.
For what
Nizhyn should be seen on a walking tour, which must certainly pass along architectural monuments, churches, cathedrals, monasteries, erected in different eras. This is not counting the monument named just above - a tribute to the cucumber, delivered even to the imperial table. It is worth visiting the rare book museum, the postal station museum. And, of course, the museum of the university, a former lyceum created in the image of Tsarskoye Selo. Nikolai Gogol studied in it, who immortalized Nizhyn in the image of the county town N.
