In such a situation, it’s good to have sharpening or replaceable knives on hand. The first petal is the most difficult. Having mastered it, you can grab the finished petal and cut, stretching the rubber a little. On a hot summer day, this procedure will be easier to do, as the rubber becomes softer from heating.
