The city of Sochi is the main resort of the Russian Federation. But this is not only a popular holiday destination, the city is the unofficial capital of the southern part of the country, a cultural and financial center. It was in this village in 2014 that the Olympics were held. 500 billion rubles were spent on preparing the city for the event, thanks to which there is now a modern and convenient infrastructure.

The main and longest street in Sochi is Kurortny Prospekt. The highway runs along the Black Sea coast.
Previously, until 1957, it was called Stalin. They laid the avenue for 2 years, from 1934 to 1936. It was then that Sochi Resort Avenue and the streets Mamontovskaya, Podgornaya, Crafts Lane were connected. Further to the Vereshchagin side, a viaduct was laid. The avenue really shortened the path between the two old cities: Upper and Lower - and connected it with the Svetlana microdistrict. There are many attractions on the street.
Plane Alley and the "Singing" Fountains
This is a small segment on Resort Avenue in Sochi. This is a pedestrian alley on one side, in the south of which plane trees are planted. And it is here that the “singing” fountains, known throughout the country, are located, which are multiple streams that rise and fall, as if “dancing” to the music.
Monument to the patron saint of the city
On the esplanade of Kurortny Prospekt in Sochi, a monument has been erected to the patron saint of the city - the archangel Michael. The sculpture itself is installed on a 20-meter column, and below the podium 5 meters high of red granite. The sculpture is bronze, 7 meters high.
"The Golden Fleece"
The composition was installed in the area of Arts Square, near the Art Museum, along the avenue - building No. 51. The monument symbolizes the idea of the historical unity of Olympic Sochi and Greece.

Administrative and other buildings
All visitors are definitely advised to visit the Sochi Art Museum (51, Kurortny Prospekt). The collection is constantly updated, but there are canvases that the museum and the city are proud of: genuine paintings by Aivazovsky, Serov, Polenov and Turzhansky.
At No. 67 is the Evangelical Christian Church. At the beginning of the last century, a pharmacy was located here. The building is assigned to architectural monuments of regional significance.
The front part of the Sochi Circus (8 Deputatskaya Street) is facing the avenue, at the intersection with Pushkin Avenue. In the area of house number 74 there is a central entrance to the Sochi Arboretum. Today it is 49 hectares of land, with unique plants brought from different parts of the world. At the bottom of the park area is an aquarium with representatives of the fauna of the Red Sea.
