general information
The considered metro station Botanichesky Sad is one of the main metro facilities that was sharply unreasonably criticized in 2015, which arose only due to the laziness of passengers to walk extra tens of meters along the track. This happened after replacing part of the escalators in one of the lobby of the station.
The station opened simultaneously with the completion of the Medvedkovo-VDNH line on September 29, 1978. This station (104th in a row) of the Moscow metro is located on the Kaluga-Riga line. It owes its name to the Main Moscow Botanical Garden of the Russian Academy of Sciences (the Russian Academy of Sciences), located not far from the metro, although its design names were “Rostokinskaya” and “Rostokino”. On the line itself, the station was located between VDNH and Sviblovo.
origin of name
As noted above, the name of the station is associated with the Main Botanical Garden. N.V. Tsitsina Academy of Sciences. Before 1966, this name belonged to the current Prospekt Mira station.
In the 1970s, it was planned to build a new exit from the garden at the station's south lobby. The entrance to the station is now near the Vladykino station. And the southern exit from the Botanical Garden is located on the territory of Leonovo Park.
Decor
The Botanichesky Sad metro station was built from prefabricated structures (reinforced concrete). On the platform, 2 rows of columns are installed that support the floors and divide the station into three spans.
The lamps located in the caissons perfectly illuminate the path and platform. They are made of aluminum anodized in gold. The columns of the station are faced with light marble. The platform itself in the main hall is covered with gray granite and labradorite, and the track walls are gray-white marble. The walls are decorated with metal panels with magnificent drawings on a variety of natural themes.
Lobbies
There are only 2 vestibules at the Botanichesky Sad metro station. Ground South, located in the park, is connected to the platform by an escalator. The underground underground lobby is equipped with a staircase leading to the main hall.
The exits from the south lobby are located, as noted above, in the direction of Leonova and Wilhelm Peak Streets . You can get to Serebryakova passage and Snezhnaya street from the northern exit.
