Northern region
It is located behind the bridge, an hour's drive from the airport. The area is calm, somewhat remote from the center. If every day you plan to ride a taxi, then living here is expensive. The sea in the bay is very calm, and the beach admires the cleanliness. There are not too many hotels here, usually houses are rented in this area.
European Quarter in Nha Trang
First, let's figure out where it is. The fact is that in this city there is no line of demarcation of areas. However, the first three lines from the famous Lotus located on the embankment are conditionally attributed to this section. The European quarter in Nha Trang got its name due to the fact that tourists with a European appearance like to relax here: Americans, Slavs, Europeans. The reference points are the first, second and third lines of the European quarter.
On the opposite side of the European quarter of Nha Trang is a wonderful green square with gazebos, exercise machines and benches. What to see in Nha Trang on your own?
This city has many architectural and historical attractions. Many of them can be examined on their own, as they are located within walking distance. Let us introduce you some of them.
Cathedral
Built at the beginning of the last century, the temple is made in the Gothic style, familiar to Europeans. A tall belfry adorns the building. It has a number of traditional small windows and a dial. Crowned by the construction of a stone cross. The height of the cathedral, where today the residence of the ruling bishop is located, is almost 40 meters. Its windows are decorated with magnificent stained-glass windows of colored transparent glass. They fill the building with bright sunlight.
Three large bells, which were cast by local craftsmen from copper, were installed on the tower two years after the completion of construction. Work on chimes continued until 1935. Today it is one of the magnificent Catholic complexes located in Southeast Asia.
Central park
Due to the focus on Russian-speaking tourists, the park acquired the semi-official name “Gorky Park”. It is located within walking distance of the Cathedral. Here, not only guests of the city like to relax, but also local residents. The park operates seven days a week and almost around the clock - it closes only before dawn for several hours. At this time, employees clean up the alleys and lawns.
Alexander Yersen Museum
In addition to ancient attractions and entertainment centers, Nha Trang has the country's largest unique Pasteur Institute, which is engaged in the development and testing of new vaccines. At the end of the XIX century, it was founded by the French scientist Alexander Yersen. A museum located in the building of the institute is dedicated to his scientific activity and life. The exposition is located in three rooms where the professor lived.
They carefully store the personal belongings of the scientist, genuine handwritten documents, photos and scientific equipment. Visitors can sit on the chair in which the professor worked, walk along a number of cabinets filled with books, look through a microscope.
Central beach
Many tourists know that the central beach of this resort is the center of entertainment and cultural life of the city. He is interesting himself, and therefore by right it can be called a tourist attraction. It is always lively and crowded, but at the same time calm and comfortable.
The infrastructure is so well thought out that there is enough space for everyone and everything - for numerous stalls with hot food, for bars and cafes, for sports grounds and discos in the fresh air. And lovers of water sports compete in surfing, sailing, divers watch the underwater world with interest, and hang gliders enjoy the flight in the air.
Lotus Tower
And now we offer you to explore one of the main attractions of Nha Trang. “Lotus” is a magnificent structure in the form of a legendary flower that adorns the city promenade. The official name of the building is Incense Tower. Previously, in its place was a memorial dedicated to the fallen defenders of Khanh Hoa province.
Partially at the expense of the hotel complex Vinpearl Land in 2008 an exhibition complex was built here. The building "Lotus" in shape resembles a famous flower. A variety of exhibitions are held in its premises. You can visit the exhibition complex for free. A high-speed elevator takes visitors from floor to floor.
