Magma swam so close to the surface that from its heat the lake began to boil and went into the atmosphere in the form of steam. And the crater itself filled the soil from the rising earth's crust, as if plugging it with a giant cork. Magma accumulated, but there was not a single gap for its exit. And then the volcano exploded. Huge fragments of the mountain and now are scattered throughout the district.
Multnomah Falls
