The city of Zhukovsky is located two and a half dozen kilometers southeast of Moscow. This is a significant industrial and scientific center and one of the largest settlements of the Moscow Region. The city’s industry is based on enterprises and research centers of the aviation and space industries. Its population exceeds one hundred thousand people. Zhukovsky city: how to get from Moscow to it in the best way
Everyone can have their favorite ways to solve transport problems. But one of the most common answers to the question of how to get to Zhukovsky is to take an electric train at the Kazan station and follow it to the platform "Rest". It is located in the city itself, and in the immediate vicinity there are still Illyinskaya and Kratovo stops. They may well be located closer to the place where you intend to get. Such a system of transport links with the capital has been formed over the past decades. But recently, other transport options have become increasingly popular. Many of those who are interested in how to get to Zhukovsky prefer to get to the Vykhino metro station first. When leaving it, you should cross the square and take the bus 478 or 474 at the bus stop. But the latter does not suit everyone, because it passes through Zhukovsky and most of its route passes outside the city. Here, on the square near the Vykhino metro station, you can also take a minibus. They go more often than buses, and the fare is quite acceptable.
Zhukovsky city: how to get to it by car
Every two years there is a traditional MAKS exhibition - the international aviation and space salon. It is accompanied by demonstrations of technology in action and attracts great public attention, for which the question of how to get to Zhukovsky becomes very relevant. Heading to the air show in your car, you should turn off the ring road to Novoryazanskoye Shosse (it’s the M-5 highway) or, if you drive from the city center, you should move along Volgogradsky Prospekt to the intersection with the Moscow Ring Road. At the settlement of Zhilino, you should turn off Novoryazanskoye Shosse onto the A-102 highway, which will lead directly to Gagarin Street in Zhukovsky. In the territory of the settlement, it is part of the highway, indicated on the maps as A-102. A feature of the layout of the city is its elongation along it. In order not to get lost, heading to the air show, you should focus on the signs installed along the route on the occasion of the upcoming event.
Some believe that on the day of the air show it is advisable to abandon your own car in favor of public transport.
