Today, the largest Ferris wheel in the world operates in Singapore. The Japanese were engaged in its design and construction, so it is not surprising that it turned out not only to be the highest, but not a single modern attraction can argue with it for reliability. Visitors have the opportunity to stay in its 28 booths of 28 people each. The largest Ferris wheel in the world allows you to enjoy the views of Singapore, some areas of Indonesia and Malaysia from a height of 163 meters.
Before the “Soaring Singapore” (this is the name of this attraction) began to work, the leading Ferris wheel in height was in London. Those who wish can view the capital of Great Britain in its booths at a level of 134 meters from the ground. Today’s second number in the rating “The Biggest Ferris Wheel in the World” is cabins made of metal and glass, behind which you can see a bewitching view of both the ancient and ultramodern city.
A similar miracle of technology and scientific progress, but only even more impressive in height, is planned to be built in the capital of Russia for several years. One of the most promising projects is considered to be a 220-meter ferris wheel, which they plan to build either at the All-Russian Exhibition Center, or in Gorky Park, or on Vernadsky Avenue. Such ambitious plans came up with the local authorities back in 2002, but then the project remained on paper.
Whether Moscow will soon receive the Ferris wheel the largest in the world is not yet clear. But serious steps have already been taken towards the implementation of these plans. So, for example, the attraction project has been approved to date. It was developed by the American architectural bureau, among the famous works of which are London Park River Park and Shanghai's 632-meter high skyscraper.
It is planned that the largest Ferris wheel in the world, which can be built in Moscow, will have a non-standard look. Firstly, its design does not provide for classic spokes connecting cabs to the axis of the wheel. They will move on rails. Secondly, a spire of 320 meters high, which will be erected close to it, will attract special attention to the Moscow ferris wheel. And at the foot of the attraction there will be another wheel, however, already in a horizontal position from the ground, where various restaurants, shops, movie theaters and even a round-the-clock ice rink will be located around the perimeter. Inside this ring, according to the project, fountains and registry offices will work, gardens under it will bloom. Naturally, a structure of this scale should have a separate parking lot, which they plan to build in the immediate vicinity of the entertainment complex. Its capacity is 2.5 thousand cars.
But for now, these are just plans, and the Moscow View (the working name of the attraction) exists only on paper and in electronic form. There are already companies that are ready to invest in this grand construction, but the relevant competitions have not yet been held. In Russia, the city where the largest Ferris wheel is already operating is considered Sochi. Its height is just over 80 meters. At the same time 140 people can ride on it.
