Station "Kakhovskaya" - the metro, considered one of the oldest in the Russian capital. In general, the first branch of the Moscow metro opened in the spring of 1935, and this transport hub has been fully operational since 1969.
In August of this year, a section of the Moscow metro line started operating from Avtozavodskaya station to the new one, which later became known as Kakhovskaya. The length of this section was 9.5 km.
Section 1. General description of the object
From an architectural point of view, the Kakhovskaya station is a shallow subway. It refers to the type of reference stations, which differ in that they have additional support floors. The construction of stations of this type was common in the late 60s - early 70s. 20th century. Since the supports are installed in 2 rows, each of which has 40 columns, this type received the humorous name “centipede”. The step between the columns is 4 m.
Section 2. The history of the construction of the metro station "Kakhovskaya" (Moscow)
During the construction of the station, a standard design was used. The concept of “typical” in this case refers to technical equipment, which, due to its perfection, has been used unchanged for a long time. At the same time, the interior decoration and bright decisions of architects contribute to the fact that each station subsequently represents an original object, very expressive and unlike other typical stations.
The station "Kakhovskaya" received its name from Kakhovka Street, which can be reached at one of the exits from it (there are 8 exits to the city from this station). Through the underground lobby today you can go to the streets Kakhovka and Yushunskaya, as well as Chongarsky and Simferopolsky boulevards. In the center of the hall you can go to the Serpukhov-Timiryazevskaya line - later, the Sevastopolskaya line was built under this station. As a rule, the Kakhovskaya metro clearly shows the city map, therefore, problems with orientation on the terrain usually do not arise either for Muscovites themselves or for guests of the capital.
Section 3. Features of the station and the reasons for its popularity
The ceiling lighting of the station hall creates an emphasis on the ribbed surface of the ceiling. In general, the Kakhovskaya station is a metro whose gray granite and labradorite were used to decorate the floor. For the decoration of the columns - red-brown marble. This color scheme contributes to the formation of a solemn mood.
A person who first appeared at this station and is in no hurry about his business, noticing anything on the way, can fully feel the strict beauty of the hall. At the same time, thematic inserts on the walls dedicated to the heroes of the civil war create a special mood - one gets the feeling that you are in the museum.
Station "Kakhovskaya" - the metro, the decoration of the columns of which is of interest to paleontologists. Specialists in this field note that marble for columns refers to two types, although for the uninitiated in a special field of knowledge, all the facing material seems the same. If you look closely at the surface of marble tiles on multifaceted columns, you can see very interesting, and sometimes unique fossils. Cephalopods, sea urchin needles , gastropod shells and fragments of lilies ... - all this can be seen on the surface of the tiles that were used to decorate the columns in the subway. Station "Kakhovskaya", in addition to its main function, really serves as a museum hall!
