History of the city
The Finnish word "yahr" means "lake", hence the name of the city. Initially, there was a settlement of Finno-Ugric tribes. The history of the present Yakhroma dates back to 1841. Temples

When in 1972 the cathedral passed into the possession of Stepan Apraksin, it was again reconstructed, and from wooden it turned into stone. On a hill in the very center of the city (Konyarova St.) is another Yakhroma attraction - Trinity Church. According to architects, it was supposed to accommodate about 4 thousand people. Therefore, the cathedral is impressive in its size. The temple was erected in 1982-1985 according to the project of S.K. Rodionov. On the opening day of the shrine, the inhabitants of the village and factory workers were invited to a sumptuous dinner. In artistic form, the building is close to the era of classicism.
At the beginning of the XX century, the temple was closed, after which the property inside was stolen. Later, the room was used as a warehouse for food, furniture, even as a dining room. During the Great Patriotic War there was a hospital. In the late 90s, the cathedral was returned to the Russian Orthodox Church. The temple is being reconstructed at the present time.
Monument to the Soviet soldier
The monument is located at Peremilovskaya height. This is the main attraction of the city of Yakhroma. At the place where the monument rises, during the years of World War II, decisive fierce battles were fought for the city. The monument was built in 1966 - this is the largest project of its kind in the whole of Moscow Region. The height of the bronze sculpture is 13 meters. It depicts a soldier rushing to attack. The sculpture itself stands on a pedestal, whose height is 15 meters. At the foot there is a tablet with the names of warrior heroes and verses dedicated to them. The monument is located on an elevated platform with a picturesque view of the city.

The tower is crowned with two caravels "Santa Maria" made of red copper. Once this ship belonged to the famous Christopher Columbus. During the Second World War, the towers were blown up, but at its end they were restored. Caravels are also depicted on the coat of arms of Yakhroma. Gateway No. 3 is a visiting card of the city.
Ski resorts
