Nizhny Novgorod is the administrative center of the Nizhny Novgorod region. It is divided into 8 inner-city districts. 5 districts of the city of Nizhny Novgorod are localized in the Zarechnaya part and 3 in Nagornaya.

Sormovsky district

This is an industrial urban area located in the Zarechnaya part of the city (in the north-west). The population is approximately 167 thousand people. The district includes such villages and micro-districts:

7th, 5th, 6th, Darino, Svetloyarsky, Cooperative;
military town (New Village);
villages: Dubravny, Volodarsky, Vysokovo, Koposovo, Fixes, People’s, Komsomolsky, Peat enterprise;
Sormovo center;

Of the attractions worth noting:

Monument "Meteor" opposite the administration;
the memorial "Tank T-34";
monument to the steam locomotive SU 251-32.

You can stroll through the Sormovsky Park of Culture and Rest, Svetloyarsky Park, the forest park zone "Koposovskaya Dubrava", which is located outside Kim Street.

Avtozavodsky district

Located in the Zarechnaya part. The population of Avtozavodsky district of Nizhny Novgorod is about 300 thousand people. It is considered the largest area. It consists of:

Microdistrict Sotsgorod 2, Sotsgorod 1, 6th, South, North, Monchegorsk, South-West, Voroshilovsky;
villages: Nagulino, New Doskino, Paris Commune, Strigino, Gnilitsy;
quarters: 52, 43 and 35.
station station "Petryaevka".

The main attraction of the Avtozavodsky district is the Gorky Automobile Plant with the museum of the same name. You can take a break from the bustle of the city in the Avtozavodsky District Park, the Striginsky Bor forest zone and on the beaches of the Oka River and Lake Zemsnaryad.

Leninsky district

This is the inner-city district of Nizhny Novgorod with a population of 142 thousand people. Located between Avtozavodsky and Kanavinsky areas, along the Oka River. Microdistricts that are included in the Leninsky district:

Hippodrome
Karpovsky;
Red Etna;
Molitovsky.

Also in the area there is the village of Metalist and Instrumental.

Karpovskaya church stands out from the sights. You can take a walk in the Dubki Park and along the beach areas of the Oka River and Silicate Lake.

Kanavinsky district

It is located in the Zarechnaya urban part on the right bank of the Volga River and the left bank of the Oka River. Has a population of more than 160 thousand people. The district includes:

Microdistricts: Gordeevsky, Meshchersky Lake (1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6 microdistricts), Sorting, Red Anchor, Greenhouse, Sleeping, Lengorodok, Seventh Heaven, Fair, Old Kanavino.
villages: Yudintseva, Berezovsky.

Among the attractions are the Nizhny Novgorod Circus, Fair, Nizhny Novgorod Stadium, Alexander Nevsky Cathedral, Strelka (the confluence of the Wolves and Oka), a planetarium, a museum of steam locomotives.

Moscow region

It borders with the Kanavinsky and Sormovsky districts of Nizhny Novgorod (its district part). The population is 125 thousand people. It consists of:

microdistricts: Red Dawns, Kalininsky, Berezovsky, Aviation, Burnakovsky;
villages: Levinka, Oryol courtyards, New construction, Birch floodplain, Ordzhonikidze.

Prioksky District

Located on the southeast side of the city (Nagorny), on the right bank of the Oka River. The approximate population of the region is 94 thousand people. As part of the Prioksky district of Nizhny Novgorod:

villages: Lyakhovo, Luch, Dubenki, Parkovy, Tiled;
microdistricts: Karavaikha, Manor, Surikovsky, Shcherbinki 1 and Shcherbinki 2;
villages: Middle Konstantinovo, Beshentsevo, Mordvintsevo, Olgino.

On the territory of the Prioksky district there is a recreation area "Schelkovo Farm", Switzerland Park, Botanical Garden.

Sovetsky district

Located on the right bank of the Oka in the Upland. The population is 149 thousand people. It includes the villages of Kuznechikha and Novopokrovskaya.
