Tehran is the capital of Iran, a country known for all its ancient history and rich cultural heritage. There are three different versions of what its name means. According to one of them - this is a combination of the syllables “those” and “wounds”, which means the foot of the mountain, the city is really located near the slope of Mount Tochal. According to another version, the capital of Iran is named after the ancient Parthian city of Tirana. The third version is inclined to the fact that Tehran is translated as a “warm place”.
Some sources claim that the city existed as a settlement as early as 14 millennia ago, but its history is known only from the 9th century. At that time it was a very inconspicuous village. Its transformation began only in the XIII century, after the fall of the powerful Ray, then many refugees moved to Tehran. It took only 100 years for the city to become the largest shopping center.
