Some sources claim that the city existed as a settlement as early as 14 millennia ago, but its history is known only from the 9th century. At that time it was a very inconspicuous village. Its transformation began only in the XIII century, after the fall of the powerful Ray, then many refugees moved to Tehran. It took only 100 years for the city to become the largest shopping center.
