Pattern preparation

Whatever slippers you sew to simplify the sewing process, the first step is to make a foot pattern.

Operating procedure:

  1. Take cardboard, marker and scissors.
  2. Lay a piece of cardboard on the floor and place your foot on top.
  3. Circle the foot contour with a marker. Do not press the felt-tip pen close to the foot.
  4. Carefully cut the trace along the contour.

The pattern is ready. Now you can apply this trace to any fabric and sew slippers. If you need to sew slippers of a different size, then simply reduce or increase the pattern.

Closed-toe slippers in one piece

DIY slippers pattern from one part is very simple. To build it, you need to take a marker and a suitable dense fabric (for example, felt or fleece).

  2. Cut the part along the contour.
  3. Fold the part and sew it around the edge.
  4. Carefully twist the slippers.
  5. In the same way, make another slipper.

Optionally, add a lining. To do this, in the same way, make a pair of slippers of thin fabric and sew the two parts together.

Slippers from an old sweater

You can sew slippers with your own hands from an old sweater. Patterns for them are not needed, it is enough just to have a pattern of the foot.

Sewing master class:

  1. Take an old sweater and cut off the sleeves from it.
  2. Fold the sweater and attach the pattern to it.
  3. Circle the pattern and cut out the soles of future slippers. In total, four such details are needed.
  4. Sweep together two parts of the sole. So the slippers will be thicker.
  5. Sew one sleeve and one sole together. This can be done with thick threads of interesting stitches. So you will have a decorative line. Or you can use simple stitches, then the slippers will need to be turned out.
  6. Stitch or hem the top of each slipper so that the threads do not fall off.

  1. Circle your leg on a piece of paper or use a previously prepared pattern.

  1. A pattern of slippers (made with your own hands) of this type consists of two parts: the sole and side. Print the finished layout on paper or draw your own.
  2. According to the pattern of the sole, cut out two pieces of fabric each for the insole, filler and sole (Figure 1).
  3. Cut two parts for the top of the slipper. To do this, fold the fabric in half with the front side inward. Attach the pattern to the fold line and circle the outline. There are two such details (Figure 1).
  4. Gently fold the two layers of the sole and attach the upper part to them with the needles and pins, as in illustration 2.
  5. Stitch the details.
  6. Similarly, make a soft cloth slipper lining (Figure 3).
  7. Stitch together the two parts. The seam should go in two rows (Figure 4). This is necessary so that later you can insert the gum. Therefore, leave a small hole in the back.
