The official language of Germany is German. However, in Germany there are a large number of dialects. They are: Bavarian and Swabian, Frisian and Mecklenburg, as well as many others. According to statistics, almost six million people speak the Russian language in Germany to varying degrees. Half of them are immigrants from the former USSR.
Most of the inhabitants of Germany (about fifty-five million people) adhere to the Christian faith. Almost half of them are Catholics, and the remaining citizens are Protestants, and only a small number (1 million) profess Orthodoxy. In addition, Muslims live in the country (2.6 million), as well as adherents of Judaism (88 thousand).
The population of Germany has a high standard of living. He is in tenth place among the states of the world community. According to official bodies, the unemployment rate is seven percent of the number of able-bodied citizens.
