Udelnaya metro is actually one of the most important transport hubs in the northern capital. Why? In order to find the answer, it is worth diving into the study of the question in more detail. It turns out that there are enough prerequisites for such a statement, and among the reasons for popularity, one can single out both purely economic and historical-cultural ones.
In this article, I propose to talk in more detail about this interesting object.
Section 1. Metro "Specific". general description
Many people know that the aforementioned metro station, which, incidentally, belongs to the Moscow-Petersburg metro line of the city of St. Petersburg, is located between metro stops such as Pionerskaya and Ozerki. It is located on the territory of the Vyborg district of the Svetlanov district.
It should be noted that this metro stop got its name for historical reasons. The fact is that at the beginning of the XIX century the territory of the Vyborg district, namely the large park and its environs, belonged to the so-called Department of inheritances. For this reason, the Udelnaya metro station, built in 1982, got its name. From the moment of construction to the present day, the name of the transport hub has not changed.
Section 2. Metro "Specific". Construction history
On November 4, 1982, the station considered in this article was opened as part of the Petrogradskaya - Udelnaya line. The architectural design of the ground pavilion was completed by the then-famous architect V.N. Vydrin.
To improve transportation, the upper part of the station, it was decided to build near the railway station with the same name. Previously, an old square was located in its place. So, after its destruction, a new metro station appeared between Enotaevskaya and Yeletskaya streets.
According to its construction characteristics, the station is single-vaulted and has every reason to be considered an object of deep laying. Its depth is approximately 64 meters. The underground part of Udelnaya was designed by several architects at once. The authors were V.N. Vydrin, V.G. Khilchenko and A.S. Getzkin.
A little later, through collective debate, it was decided that the station would include a single island platform, as well as four underground incline escalators.
Special lighting of the station was enclosed in arc-shaped lamps, which are located in the arches of the structure. To date, all lighting fixtures are protected by grilles.
In 2000, sodium lamps were used instead of mercury lamps . This change has transformed the station, it has become much brighter and still differs from the rest in its excellent lighting.
Section 3. Metro "Specific". Characteristics
The described object has an interesting decoration, made in the same style. The bas-relief of V.I. Lenin adorns the end wall of the underground part of the station. Under it is still placed an inscription reminiscent of past events. The lines tell that in August 1917, V. I. Lenin, avoiding the persecution of the Provisional Government, illegally left the Udelnaya railway station in Finland. The number of the engine was 293. It is also written that in October 1917, Lenin returned to Petrograd in order to lead the preparation of the armed uprising.
From the station you can get to Enotaevskaya and Yeletskaya streets. Those who wish can visit Udelny Prospekt. Udelnaya metro station (St. Petersburg) is popular with visitors to the city, as well as those who work in the suburbs. Not far from the entrance is a hotel that provides everyone with relatively inexpensive accommodation. The local market is also within walking distance.
On the line between Ozerki and Udelnaya, a technical service center was built, which is the only one for this line.
The road interchange on the surface is actually very successful. From the station, passengers can continue their route on numerous buses, both municipal and private, or take the tram.
