Prince Alexander Mikhail (1614-1677): biography

Alexander Mikhail Lubomirsky was born in 1614 and died in 1677. He was a Polish aristocrat who replaced several posts in his life, as well as the ancestor of the Vishnevets line of the Lyubomirsky clan. The article discusses the life of the prince and his family.

Biography

Alexander Mikhail is a representative of the Polish family of the princes of Lubomirsky under the coat of arms โ€œDruzhinaโ€, or โ€œShreniavaโ€.

At 29 years old (1643), he served as the subordinate Queen of Cicelius Renata of Austria. Later, Alexander Mikhail was engaged in stables management, he was in charge of horses and the rest connected with equestrian affairs (1645-1668) in the position of the equestrian great crown.

From 1668 he became governor of the city of Krakow - a place where until 1734 the coronation of Polish kings was held. The prince continued his service for 11 years - from 1668 to 1677.

During his life, he also served as the headman of the cities of Sadomir and Bygoszcz (in the 16th century - the nodal center of grain trade, later known as the place of signing the Wielawski-Bygoszcz tract).

After Jan II Casimir Vaz abdicated, Alexander Alexadr expressed his support to Philip Velgelm Pfalsky.

During his life, the prince was the owner of:

  • two castles - Vishnits and Rzhemen;
  • three cities;
  • 120 villages;
  • 57 estates;
  • 7 starostv.

A family

Alexander Mikhail was the eldest son of Prince Stanislav Lubomirsky of Krakow, who died in 1649. And his mother was Sofia Alexandrovna Ostrog, she died in 1622.

The prince was a brother to such people:

  • Jerzy Sebastian Lubomirsky;
  • Constance of Lyubomirskaya;
  • Konstantin Jacek Lubomirsky;
  • Anna Kristina Lubomirskaya.

In 1637, with the Elena Tekle Ossolinskaya (she lived until 1687), who was the daughter of the diplomat Jerzy Ossolinsky, Alexander Mikhail created a family. The couple had one child - Jozef Karol Lubomirski (years of life - 1692โ€“1702). The son was a statesman of the Rzeczpospalita.

The son, brought up by Prince Alexander Mikhail Lubomirsky, in the future became the headman of the cities of Sadomir and Zator.

The Lubomirski family tree includes many relatives who were princes of many Polish cities.
