A bistable relay is a device that is designed to control contacts. The difference from the conventional wired model is that the modification is suitable for parallel push-button switches. You can control the device from different points.
A standard relay includes a block of contacts, a modulator and a set of transistors. The capacitors in the relay are used in a negative direction, and they differ in capacitance. If necessary, you can independently assemble a relay for a simple switch.
Device with coil
The user is able to make a bistable relay with his own hands based on a wired resistor. In this case, the modulator is most often selected for three capacitors, and the expander is used with low conductivity. The bistable relay with coil is controlled by the controller.
It is also worth noting that the assembly should begin with the preparation of the thyristor. The coil is selected at 24 V. To overcome impulse noise in the circuit, only variable converters are used. The negative resistance of the relay must be at least 30 ohms.
Making a pulse modification
The pulse bistable relay can be assembled on a simple wired resistor. The modulator will need an expansion type, and its resistance should be at least 40 ohms. Experts say that capacitors should be soldered in a sequential order. Particular attention when assembling the relay must be given to the contacts on the closing plate. Quite often, the modulator is selected with a lining. In this case, the conductivity of the resistor should not fall below 4 microns. Thus, the rated voltage in the device will be maintained at 50 V.
Microcontroller model
Microcontroller devices are very common. They are suitable for pushbutton switches. Also, devices are actively used in switches. Specialists recommend using only capacitive resistors for assembly. In total, the relay will require three capacitors. The nominal voltage is on average 24 V. With a conductivity of 2 microns, the resistor should give an overload of 10 A.
The modulator for the relay is allowed to use the line type. As a rule, modifications are issued for three outputs. The bistable relay (microcontroller) is controlled by a switch. It is also worth noting that there are devices with wired stabilizers. The resistance value of the elements should not exceed 45 Ohms.
5 V relay
A 5 V relay is assembled with an open modulator. For the modification, the stabilizer will need a wired type, and its overload must be about 4 A. On average, the resistance of this type of relay does not exceed 50 Ohms. Quite often, contactor expanders are installed. Dipole capacitors are well suited for signal generation. When assembling, it is important to prepare four filters. Coil applied low conductivity. Experts say that the lining should be at the beginning of the chain. The rated voltage of the relay should be about 30 V.
10 V devices
10 V relays are made for closing contactors. Resistors for devices are suitable for an adjustable type with an overload of 2 A. Speaking of simple modifications, the coil can be safely used with a lining. It should also be noted that only two capacitors are required to assemble the relay.
The conductivity of the elements should be at least 5 microns. If the rated voltage rises strongly, it is recommended to check the resistance. Expanders for modifications are used wave type. The negative resistance of the elements reaches a maximum of 55 ohms. In some cases, phase resistors are used. They have a low overload parameter, but they do a good job with impulse noise.
12V Mods
The bistable relay (12 volts, automotive) is suitable for wire-type contactors. Often it is used in light control systems. Coils for modifications are suitable for different frequencies and diameters. If you trust the experts, then the resistors are allowed to select an operational type with an open lining. In this case, modulators are used only on the thyristor, and the conductivity of the element will be about 3 microns.
Transceivers under the relay are selected in a negative direction. The rated voltage in the devices can drop significantly. This occurs due to an increase in the load on the capacitors. To increase the voltage parameter, tetrodes are used, which operate from converters. Filters under them are installed with conductivity from 10 microns.
Devices for detectors
A bistable relay intended for detectors is often found on the market. Management of devices occurs at the expense of the controller. Models for detectors can be made independently. For this purpose, only one resistor is procured. The conductivity of the element must be at least 12 microns with an overload of 2 A. The operating frequency of the relay of this type is approximately 20 Hz. If we consider a simple modification, the expander is set to 13 V. The contactors are soldered behind the resistor. It should also be noted that a transceiver circuit with a conductivity of about 5 microns is required.
If you use elements of high sensitivity, there is a risk of increased voltage. In this case, it is more expedient to install switched thyristors. They are sold with and without insulators. Most often, the permissible overload level for elements is 4 A. They work from dipole converters. Contacts will only be set before the modulator.
Model for motion sensor
Devices for motion sensors are made very simple. Modules in this case are allowed to use wave type with conductivity from 4 microns. In this case, the nominal voltage should be about 30 V. Transceivers for devices are selected on wire resistors. If we consider a circuit with dipole conductors, then we need an expander. It should also be noted that experts advise against using conductive resistors with low sensitivity. They have a small threshold of conductivity, they quickly overheat. Capacitors for relays are selected at 4 pF. This capacitance is sufficient for fast pulse generation.
Devices for light sensors
The bistable relay for sensors is allowed to be made on the basis of two modules of high conductivity. First of all, a resistor is procured during assembly. Its rated voltage should be 15 V. It is also worth taking care of the capacitor circuit with high capacity. Thyristor will need only one. Experts say that it is possible to improve the stability of an element by using variable blockers.
These devices are sold with or without linings. Their operating frequency fluctuates around 40 Hz. In this case, the resistance in the circuit does not fall below 55 ohms. Extenders are installed at the beginning of the circuit and must be in front of the contacts. To test the conductivity, you can use a tester.
Modifications with variable modulator
The bistable relay with a variable modulator is well suited for detectors of different directions. Most modifications are available with open resistors. To assemble the relay yourself, it is more advisable to use a phase expander. The modulator in the device is installed immediately after the contacts. It should also be noted that there are modifications on wire extenders. They have a low conductivity threshold. However, they can operate on an AC circuit. The stabilizer for the relay can be selected on a conductor basis. The rated voltage of the element must be at least 24 V.
The use of contact modulators
Bistable relays with contact modulators are used in direct and alternating current circuits. Many modifications are available with open type resistors and conductivity at around 5 microns. At the same time, their rated voltage is only 14 V. The modulator in the device is installed behind the resistor. It should also be noted that only one capacitor is required for assembly.
If we consider a simple relay, then the element is more appropriate to use a capacitive type of 3 pF. Conductivity should not be 15 microns. Stabilizers in devices of this type are installed with a phase switch. At a rated voltage of 10 V, the model produces an average of 30 Hz.
Expanders are used at different frequencies. Experts say that you can take only open filters with a conductivity of 5 microns. However, one must take into account the fact that they have high heat losses. Condensers with these filters will be heavily loaded.
