Hundreds of thousands of tourists come to Florence every year, because the historical center of the city has been declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Flight to Florence
Florence (Peretola) Airport named after Amerigo Vespucci is the second largest in size after Pisa Airport in the Tuscan region. It is 4 kilometers from the center of Florence on an area of about 115 hectares.
Buses from the central railway station run every half hour from the city to the airport, and a tram line is also being built that will connect the center and the air gates of Florence.
Flights depart from Florence to major European cities, but, unfortunately, there is no direct flight Moscow-Florence. You can choose a flight with a change in Zurich, Paris, Frankfurt or Fiumicino.
Train Station
Station "Santa Maria Novella" is the main station of the city with an annual passenger flow of 59 million people. The building was designed by Giovanni Michelucci and is located on Piazza della Stazione, not far from the Renaissance architecture masterpiece Fortezza da Basso, in front of the eponymous basilica, from which the name of the station originated.
From the train station of Florence there are trains on intercity routes and on international routes: to Austria, France, Germany and Switzerland.
Intercity trains connect Florence with other cities in Italy. About 90 trains depart daily from the station, and the ticket price starts at 7.90 euros, depending on the destination.
Intercity night trains allow travelers to save a bit without sacrificing comfort and quality. A special ticket is issued for night trips, and an identity document must be presented on the train.
All international trains have the following services:

High speed trains
FRECCIAROSSA - trains with a maximum speed of 300 kilometers per hour. They connect the station of Florence with the major cities of Italy: Rome, Milan, Venice.
FRECCIARGENTO - can ride both on a high-speed line and on a regular one. The maximum speed of the train is 250 kilometers per hour. Florence has daily flights to Rome and some cities of Northern and Southern Italy.
FRECCIABIANCA - regular passenger trains providing routes to small towns in Italy.
Another Florence train station, Campo di Marte, is used by passengers from the surrounding countryside.
Bus Station Florence
SITA Central Bus Station is located next to the train station. From the station there are flights to many cities in Italy. At the station there is an information board, which indicates:
- Flight number.
- The starting destination.
- Final destination.
- Name of carrier company.
- Availability
- Arrival, departure and estimated delays.
