Materials

All the materials needed to make an octopus costume are likely to be found in your home. In extreme cases, they can be easily and inexpensively purchased in a store like “Funny Prices” or Fix Price near you.

So, we need:

  • 4 pairs of tights;
  • a belt, belt, tape, or at least a rope;
  • T-shirt with long sleeves;
  • a hat;
  • pieces of felt or other black and white fabric;
  • pins (better safe English);
  • many, many synthetic winterizer or cotton wool.

The octopus costume, of course, will look more harmonious if all its parts - tights, a shirt and a hat - are chosen in the same tone, but an eclectic combination of different colors and textures can give an interesting result. It all depends on your imagination and the materials available.

Process

Remember that an octopus has 8 legs. Therefore, the first thing to do is fill three pairs of tights with filler. Do not tamper too tightly, firstly, it will take a lot of material, and secondly, the tentacles will become too heavy and will pull the structure down.

If it so happened that there was no cotton wool or synthetic winterizer at hand, you can use torn and crumpled newspapers like those publications that are always shoved in mailboxes. It will turn out not so neatly, but for an emergency case it’ll work.

The child himself can and must be connected to the process of stuffing pantyhose with a filler: firstly, this is quite fun, and secondly, perhaps next time he will remember the need to bring something to the holiday a little earlier than the day before.

We put a T-shirt on the child. If you, passionate about the process, accidentally stuffed all the pairs of tights, then from one of them the filler will have to be pulled out and still put them on the child. The top of the remaining pairs is wrapped around the belt and secured with pins.

We cut out two large circles from white fabric, and two smaller circles from black. If there was no tissue at hand, then you can simply draw and cut eyes out of paper. Attach the eyes to the cap.

If you have time and desire, you can decorate with ribbons, buttons or other things that have been lying around for a long time.
