How to weave dahlias?

Necessary materials

To weave such a bright interesting flower, you will need:

  • thin wire for beadwork;
  • beads for petals - any color;
  • beads for flower sepals;
  • thick wire;
  • green floss thread for wire decor.

For weaving petals, you can use several shades of beads to give a gradient or diversify the appearance of the flowers. Use different colors when collecting a lush bouquet.

Material needed

Petal weaving

Petals are made using the technique of weaving arcs. This simple and quick way will allow you to easily form a flower:

  1. For one petal to a dahlia from beads, approximately 70 cm of wire should be measured.
  2. On it, dial 7 beads and bring closer to the end.
  3. Form a small loop near the beads, at the other end - a larger loop.
  4. On the long end of the wire, dial 10 beads and make a turn, half-turn, wrapping 7 beads.
  5. For the next row, dial 13 beads and also wrap 7 beads on the other side, wrap the wire once to fix the row.
  6. Thus, pick up beads on the wire, a little more each time, to go around the previous row.
  7. Make two more rows and tightly twist the wire with the axis of weaving.

The little petal is ready! Such petals for a flower need six pieces.

In a similar way - using the technique of weaving with arches - weave six petals of medium size, gaining fifteen beads on the axis. By thickness, the petal is woven of 6 rows.

So we make a magnificent flower. For a dahlia from beads , you will also need twelve petals with a base of 20 beads, also three rows wide.

Arc Weaving

Weaving core

The core of the dahlia is a small stamen. To weave such, take gold or silver beads. Measure a meter of wire, on it dial 9 beads of the shade selected for the stamens and one main, then again 8 beads of color for the stamens. After that, take one of the ends of the wire and pull it through the first dialed bead. Tighten the weave into a loop.

To make the next stamen on one end, dial the same number of beads. Thread the first bead dialed with the same end in the opposite direction. In order to create a core, you will need 10 such stamens on a wire. Firmly press each new stamen to the previous one, so your weaving will turn out neat, without gaps.

Beadwork

Sepal

For dahlias from beads, it is also necessary to weave the sepals:

  • Measure another meter of wire and type on it 30 beads of shade for weaving stamens.
  • The sepals are woven in the same way as the core of the flower, so at one end, thread the first bead you have collected and tighten into a loop.
  • Make such 10 loops.

Flower assembly

All details for the flower are ready. If desired, you can decorate your weaving with bright leaves - green or the color of stamens.

  1. Take a piece of thick wire, 20 cm long. It will serve as a frame for a flower, with it you can safely put several flowers in a vase.
  2. Twist the weaving of stamens, place the smallest petals around them, attach a piece of thick wire and twist the parts tightly.
  3. Next, also attach and twist the rest of the petals with the rest of the wire.
  4. Having finished with the largest petals, take a sepal wire, go around the weave and twist the remains of the wire tightly. Make sure that the wire is twisted tightly and the weave is stable.
  5. Decorate the wire with floss thread and a pair of leaflets.
