In Rostov is one of the mysterious sights of Russia - Lake Nero. It is already over 500 thousand years old, but it is never forgotten by people. Tourists, local fishermen often come there for new adventures and experiences. The area of Lake Nero is 50 square km. It is shallow, silty, the bottom is covered with algae, and because of this, the water is unsuitable for drinking. Despite this, the fish here feels great. There are two islands on it: Lviv and Rozhdestvensky, they are also called Forest and Winter. Nero in translation means "marshland, silty terrain."
In Russia, many seek to visit Lake Nero. Rostovites are proud of this enviable place. It is allowed to fish there, and anglers often leave satisfied with their catch. Despite the fact that the water depth does not exceed four meters, the lake is navigable. Recently, people float on it in boats - this is one of the attractions of tourists.
Lake Nero is classified as preglacial, it is well preserved and is considered a rare reservoir. On one of the shores is a monastery of ancient Rostov the Great. There are floodplains along the rest of the perimeter - a continuous reed that creates the illusion of a dry shore. Often, inexperienced fishermen fishing near floodplains mistakenly believe that they are near the shore. In fact, there can be kilometers to it. It is worth visiting the lake once, and it becomes a favorite pastime. Unfortunately, the number of fish is decreasing every season more and more due to the growing number of anglers. A small amount of zander and ruff is observed. In winter, of course, fishing is of greater interest, and it’s more real to get out of there with a good catch. In the summer it is much more difficult to do. As already mentioned, this is due to the growing number of fishermen.
Lake Nero has a second name - Kaovo. On its banks are many settlements, the largest is the Sarskoye fortification. Previously, there were many attractions, but, unfortunately, now they are almost gone. Tourists can enjoy activities such as sailing in private boats and speedboats. Most importantly, the best sides of the city and the views of nature are best seen from the water. From the middle of the lake you can see the Rostov Kremlin, Spaso-Yakovlevsky Dimitriev and Avraamiev Monasteries. In addition, two excursion motor ships - “Rodina” and “Zarya” - go by water.
